Ah, Keys. Many people love this place, and that collective love draws me here every couple of years. Unfortunately, I have never been impressed. After today, it's time for my review. Due to some temporary insanity, today I ordered the steak fajita omelette (violating my rule to keep it simple in a place I'm not 100% on). To replicate the steak in this omelette, you would need to take an unmarinated sirloin, cook it WELL done, and then toss it straight in the fridge. In 2 days, take the steak out and chop it up (you'll need something REALLY sharp) and throw it on the griddle with enough vegetable oil to make it swim (this does nothing for the texture it's just...how they made it for whatever reason). Now throw the chunks in an omelette with as much of the grease and oil as you can salvage - actually, squirt another 4 oz of oil right in there for good measure. As you may have gathered, my omelette was greasy to staggering proportions while containing a truckload of leftover, unchewable, boot-leather steak that the restaurant was desperate to get rid of. My fresh fruit bowl looked promising, and the blueberries were good, but the strawberries were soggy and flavorless. The banana had a surprising urinal-cake overtone. The coffee tasted watered-down and uninspiring. The toast was ok! On to service: a nice lady greeted me on entry and quickly brought coffee and took my order. After she brought out my breakfast, I did not see her again until long after I finished (despite the place being only a quarter full). Taking away my untouched steak, she asked with a smile how everything was while backing away. "The steak was tough," I called after her retreating form. She shrugged, smiled, and said, "Oh well." I had a feeling she knew. I've had the pancakes here in the past and they are decent. If you've ever made pancakes yourself from scratch and aren't afraid of a hot pan, you've had better. I came in at 7:00 AM and there were 3 or 4 other tables. In the past I've come in after 8:00 and faced a long line out the door. The prices are quite high for a diner-type restaurant, probably owing to the "legendary" status of the place. In summation: If you are easily taken in by hype or nostalgia, you might enjoy this place. If you have a discerning palatte where breakfast is concerned, you should avoid.

I was camping at a nearby resort and came here for brunch. Instead ended up ordering a cheeseburger and fries which was okay but nothing spectacular. My 7 year old nephew had a cheeseburger meal from the kids menu and it costs the same as an adult size meal, so I didn't get that concept. It was nice in here and clean. I would come again to try something else. It wasn't a bad experience just not what I expected. In response to the restaurant $0.50 means nothing to me. Everything else on the kids menu is between $5-6. The burgers aren't that great to jack up the price on the kids menu. The meat was real unlike a lot of restaurants but it was bland. Everyone has their own opinions and mine is that maybe the breakfast would be better, since this is a pancake house.

A recent visit to this charming pancake restaurant nestled in the heart of Old Forge, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Kathy at 72 who smiled the whole time and you could tell she still loves her job. The food was fantastic—perfectly fluffy pancakes with just the right amount of sweetness and a variety of delicious toppings to choose from. The restaurant has a cozy, nostalgic vibe that really added to the experience. It felt like stepping back in time to a simpler era, where good food and friendly faces are all you need to start the day. I highly recommend stopping by if you're ever in town—it's a true gem!

didn't even get to order food. we first came in for breakfast and were given attitude by the server and immediately left. she came to our table when we first came in asking what we wanted to drink (we had 10 ppl) and we weren't ready. we had been sitting for less than 5 minutes and were still figuring out how to fit it all on one check because they don't split checks and they charge 3% for card charges. we asked for one more minute and were met with "you don't even know what you want to drink" with a horrible attitude. and then stomped off and was laughing with co workers. so we just got up and left. and they said "thank you so much have a wonderful day!" (totally not condescending) 😂 trash attitude, and a sad excuse of a service worker.

edit : no one asked for 10 separate checks, we asked if there was any way to separate it at all into TWO for the people who had cards & could send money to one person and the people who had cash to put it all together!!! we were given a dirty look followed with a no and then when asked what to drink we OBVIOUSLY needed some time to figure out how to fit it all on one. so we asked for another minute and were met with ANOTHER dirty look and "you don't even know what you want to drink". not once did we give any disrespect! we even had one person come in to ASK if it's possible to sit 10 people before we all came in!!! i applaud how quick we were seated and that's it. i've never seen an OWNER argue with people who didn't have a good experience and it's funny because anywhere else we went everyone knew how horrible the owner was and said that's why the waitresses are so miserable! and the fact they have signs EVERYWHERE asking to leave a positive review says something. i empathize with the rest of the ton leaving bad reviews and being met with a nasty owner replying with nasty lies and belittling its customers. it's okay though!! we took our business elsewhere and had the BEST...

Food was good, our server was okay, more worried about talking than serving. But waiting for a over an hour for a couple pancakes and over easy eggs was a bit ridiculous. Especially with children. We were never once given or even asked if we would like a refill on our beverages. The place was busy when we went but we had basically no wait time to be seated (we would have rather waited outside with two kids until they could handle their customers rather than get seated for over a hour). Maybe not seating every table in the place until fully staffed would help. Walked my daughter to the bathroom while waiting for her I peaked in the kitchen through the little slices in the wall, & one of the cooks was holding his cell phone up to his ear talking on it standing in-front of the grill top, Possibly part of the hold up? Wonder if he changed his gloves after hanging up the phone.

Side note in a separate review I read from a few days ago the owner stated “we never have hour wait time for food” that is a lie as we also waited for just over a hour.

** Edit for the owner, get your ego in check. it was most certainly and hour I wouldn’t lie over something so foolish and I’m sure the others who stated the same wouldn’t either. Like I said if you can’t serve everyone don’t seat all your tables. Had we known we would sit for hour a hour after placing our order we may have just grabbed something else 😎

You’re more delusional than I thought. Arguing with MULTIPLE customers about wait time is not a good look for you. This will be my last edit as the owner has made themself look foolish enough in their replies. Take the constructive criticism and roll with it, you don’t have to fight with people who give...
