The Tow Bar Inn — Restaurant in Town of Webb

My boys and I were just there. Old Forge,NY t 8/8/2022, LOST POWER tonight, and there were no places open including gas stations to stop in and get something to.eat, we pulled in front of the bar, hoping there would be food, as I walked in to the bar, with my 7 and 10year old , the pleasant bartender lady, said ""sorry but there's no food here"", I asked for bottled water, again it was a no, but the only thing bottled was Saranac root beer, and they had a variety of chips and etc. KATIE(?), A VERY pleasant lady heard us and said that she had some sports drinks , apple sauce , and went in to the back room and grabbed us what she had to offer so we had something to eat in the hotel room , as I returned to the bar to.pay, some good Samaritan, a young guy, had already paid for our root beer and chips the boys have picked out. I offered to pay , but it was not accepted. The folks there, the bar tender, Katie Manager?, and the young guy were so cool helping us out , that even my 7 and 10 year old kept saying that these were very nice people. We thank you again. For your hospitality, and the sharing and caring hearts. It means a lot, and I believe in returning the favor or paying it forward is a ""thing"", and i believe it paid us back tonight via these...

Very disappointed with the hospitality we were met with. My boyfriend and I had come in late on a Monday night and stayed for around 2 hours, we had planned to stay till close until we went up to the bar after playing some games and were talking to some locals about places to visit and things to do as we visit often during the summer. the bartender came over to see if we needed more drinks but we decided not to after he added “I only work on tips so I hope you’ll give me a little something it’s kind of rude not to” to which I responded that my family owns a bar/restaurant and I understand that bartenders make most of their money on tips we just usually wait until we are leaving to tip, so he got his tip and we left. I find it rude to ask for a tip from only 2 people (because he only said this to us with and entire bar full of people he seemed to already know,locals I would assume) Had we been the only ones in there I might’ve felt differently. Otherwise this is a nice place but this interaction will keep us from returning as there a plenty other...

A great, low key bar! If you’re into pool, a great juke box, a cash bar, local flavor and inexpensive beer, you can’t go wrong with the Tow Bar. If (on the other hand) you want over-priced fancy cocktails, a Michelin star menu, and the designer label crowd, go somewhere else. (And please don’t leave a bad review because the bar isn’t what you think it should be.) We had a great time and will stop in again the next time...
