Lilly"s steaks & Co formally known as Prime, was a mixed experience, dining room was decorated in adirondack ,a bit dark. Need a bit renovation to bring into modern times. Wait staff Fran was extremely professional, until end of meal, disposition changed ,seems a bit understaffed. We ordered dry age beef 30 days 23 oz bone n strip medium rare, and one medium, simply tender with notes of velvet like texture. Also ordered double cut charred pork chop, which was a disappointment, it was overcooked, ordered medium, very bland and should have been charred more than looking at a beige piece of pork. Calamari was light and flaky with hints of peperoncini which balanced the fried squid.long island mussels with hints of white wine tender and delicious. Side's of Mac n cheese was a miss, extremely bland and a bit undercooked too pasty, side of rice was undercooked, mash potatoes could have been served in bigger portions, onion rings and French fries a bit overdone , cooked in same old oil ,taste of oil is never pleasing to the palette. Lilly's has an extensive wine list nice labels available. Ordered the Stella Artois beer served in a brandy snifter, very odd, small portion for the price. In today's economic turmoil of recession, clients can be choosy about the eating establishment, other than the side accompaniment pitfall, you want to try a delicious tender dry aged steak, one thing this place is understaffed and when waitress hands you the check she leaves immediately due to attending to two other tables, this establishment charges a credit card fee ,without telling you ,no other premier establishment charges clients for credit card fee,at best they are happy for your patronage. If you try Lilly"s formally known as Prime in Windham N.Y. your palette is sure to leave a lasting impression. Beware of hidden service fee without acknowledgement...
Read moreWe really wanted to love the place but I can’t say anything stellar about it. We had someone go at 5pm to wait on a table for 10 of us. Understandable that on a really busy day, we would have to wait. We were told that we would be getting a certain table once a group left. Well nepotism occurred and a family friend group showed up and all of the sudden, the table was too small for the group. Well if it was the case, then don’t say the table is yours. Following that, another table of 11 was seated. Hmmm… we couldn’t fit at the other table, but the table for 11 was going to someone else. That really ticked us off after spending hundreds at the bar on drinks while waiting. Then at around 7:30 we were finally seated after causing a commotion. We were able to seat 13 people at a table that was on for 9, so it really depends on how management is feeling that moment. We didn’t get our food till 8:30 at which the kids were understandably hungry and grumpy. It would have all been worth the wait, hassle and poor experience but the food was just ok. Steak salad was filled with red onions and little else. The steak was stringy and inedible. The sautéed spinach was so salty and looked like it was more like boiled spinach. We had to consistently ask for water and most of the time, all 10 glasses of water were empty on the table. You can often make up for a busy restaurant with amazing food. This wasn’t the case. 1 star for not getting food poisoning. 1 star as the support staff didn’t drop food on us. I’d go else where and you’ll get better food and service for a much...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended to us. I have to say it was a delight. As we entered I request a boot , for my back. The hostess gladly catered to my needs. We were handed a menu and also a iPad to view how our food would look . The waitress was a lovely lady. Happy and had a laugh with us. The food was delicious. I started with the Brie and my husband had the portobello mushroom. Then he had a steak, which he loved , I had the battered fish and chips. Which was a very large portion. Could not finish as the Brie was a meal in its self. No complaints with the food. The bill came and my husband left his wallet in the car. I explained to the waitress. She said it was okay as there were plenty of dishes to wash. We had a good laugh about it . We are Irish and enjoy a good banter. While he was gone I looked at the bill. 3% added for credit card and another 3% of the bill for operating fee. I questioned it with the waitress. A new charge for POS. SERIOUSLY. We eat out a lot in manhattan and surrounding areas. I have never seen this before. I refused to pay 6% extra on top of a tip for the wonderful waitress. I had cash in my wallet, as I like to tip with cash as I have two children who work for the summer in restaurants and I tip generously for good service. I paid for the meal in cash. Overall. Food was good , service was a delight . We shall not be returning ...
