Never have I been so humiliated in my life! As a disabled combat veteran who suffers from anxiety and ptsd I have a hard enough time going to crowded public places, including restaurants. This past weekend i was visiting my in laws and we decided to go out to dinner. They let me choose, seeing as though I had to find a place where I could pick an item from the menu for my 9 month old baby. We walked into this diner and seeing as it wasnt too crowded and the menu was fairly extensive I chose this place. I ordered the chicken parmigiana from the kids menu for my son (he loves chicken) and asked that it come out asap, since he was starving and didnt understand the concept of waiting for food. His food showed up 10 minutes after we all got ours. Then I started cutting it up and had a hard time cutting. So I asked my husband to try it because it felt rubbery. He said it was disgusting and something was definitely wrong with it. So we asked the waitress to just take it off the bill and charge us for the spaghetti. A few minutes later the owner comes out with the chicken, yelling at me telling me its soft, how dare I return it. I told him it was not soft, it was rubbery and I did not find it to be eatible for my son. He kept cutting it up in front of me yelling at me, telling me I shouldn't have ordered it for him, that it was from the kids menu, not for babies. Then when he walked away I said to my husband "did that really just happen? That was so inappropriate!" And he turned around and yelled at me again and told me to leave, that he did not want me in his restaurant. Then my father in law told him he was out of line and he told them to leave also. My father in law paid for the bill so this man wouldnt think we were "trying to get a free meal out of him" (as he said) while my husband and I left with our 11 year old (who witnessed this all) and our baby. When I walked out I had a severe panic attack that did not break for 45 minutes thanks to this man who clearly has zero customer service skills or people skills at that. All i was trying to do was feed my baby...
Side note, my husband and his brother both believe they got food poisoning from their meals. I did not have a chance to eat my meal, since I was trying to feed the baby. The whole thing was an...
Read moreI took a nice scenic drive to this Diner from my Hunter lodge for a nice breakfast with my Fiancée.
They were severely understaffed. No one answering phones or greeting patrons of the establishment. Asked a worker where to sit and he just told me to sit anywhere. We waited 15 minutes before grabbing 2 menus from the front counter since no one came around to greet us. We also grabbed silverware from another table since that was not provided. A Spanish worker finally came around to us around the 20 minute mark to ask if we wanted anything to drink and we asked for 2 coffees. After he delivered the coffees he never came back to take our order. @ the 35 min mark we just decided that this diner is poorly run because maybe it's Sunday and they are overwhelmed with the disproportionate ratio of employees to patrons. I spoke to the Spanish worker who should have been our server and told him I wanted to just pay for the coffees since the service was terrible and he basically forgot about us since the maybe 3 waiters were mostly focusing on the diners inside the restaurant. He told me not to worry about paying for the coffees since he basically admitted that he forgot about us but my Fiancée decided to leave $4 for the drinks anyway since she thought it was appropriate. I am very patient but waiting 35 minutes to order food is beyond ridiculous.
This diner seems to have great reviews and a good average but more employees need to be hired to handle the demand of locals and individuals like myself that are enjoying a weekend vacation. I ended up going back to Phoenicia Diner which is absolutely phenomenal and won't be returning to this poorly...
Read moreHorrible experience and will never be returning to this establishment. We were pretty much ignored when arriving. Then waitress sat us down and within 2 minutes demanded our food and drink orders. I ordered a cranberry juice which turned out to be warm. Then asked the other waitress for a water because the original was not around and she just told the buss boy to get it. He brought the water to the wrong table and continued his business 5 minutes later the second waitress noticed I was still waiting for my water and told the buss boy again to get me water " apparently the buss boy has to get all the drinks". When receiving my water it had a very strong bleach taste. The French toast I ordered and took 2 bites of was undercooked so I sent it back and by the time the new order would have come out my wife had already finished eating and I had lost my appetite. We ended up being double charged for the French toast and the waitress was extremely rude about the entire situation. Worst service ever I don't know how anyone could treat customers so horribly. I guess maybe since they know they're the only diner around that gives them the reason to not care about customers. Once again never again I'd rather eat from a trash can. Oh and I almost forgot they have some very strong stench of skunk in the restaurant as well. Good luck to anyone who dares to set foot in this death...
