WARNING: PUBIC AND PERSONAL HAIR FOUND IN OUR FOOD.
If I can give this place a -1 rating I would. I have to say that I have never in my life experienced such a horrible take out service. I honestly felt completely disrespected with the quality of the food and the over pricing.
I spent $48.00 on 2 Shrimp Scampi and about $12.00 on "Roasted Veggies". The bill in total was $64.00. Here are my issues with this establishment:
The Shrimp Scampi had absolutely no flavor, the spaghetti pasta was extremely undercooked and the shrimp was badly overcooked and had noooooo flavor. When I bit into the pasta it tasted like I bit into Chalk. I literally took one small bite and had to throw both orders away. My little sister of 8 years old could of cooked it better.
The " Roasted Veggies": I asked them if they had Roasted veggies, the woman said yes.... when I returned back to my hotel 30 mins away, the Veggies were 3 small pieces of oily broccoli and about 9 pieces of green peas. But what was most disgusting about this order was that there was PUBIC HAIR in my food. It seems like they did that deliberately. My wife and I were speechless . We couldn't call back the restaurant because we had no phone service and I was not going to drive back 30 mins to return it. They would have been closed by the time I got back to Millrock the nastiest restaurant in Windham.
Packaging: The packaging had hair on it as well.
My wife and I just wanted to have a nice saturday dinner and we went to Millrock because we saw the great reviews on the food. But honestly I feel this was done deliberately. We went into the establishment respectfully and even told the lady in the front (whom I think is either manager or owner) that we looked forward to tasting the food because of the great reviews. This truly ruined the great Saturday we were having. I felt disrespected and will never ever ever return to this establishment.
Note to Management: Treat your customers with respect at all time, even when it comes to take out food. We did not want to eat at the business because we rented a beautiful cabin and wanted a romantic dinner by ourselves. This order was a complete nightmare and thank God we didn't eat any of it. I had a fear that the dishes were poisoned due to the PUBIC HAIR and all the other hair within the packaging. You guys stole our money and lost our respect. We went in there kind and really looking forward to eating your food. I wouldn't feed your food to my worst enemy or any animal. Horrible horrible...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going to Millrock for years. The staff is friendly and Justine and John always have a smile on their faces, My go to is a lemon chicken. There’s just something about it that I find divine. But this particular night, my wife and I decided to hit the specials. We started with the Moscow Mule for the wife, made with homemade ginger beer, And a blood orange whiskey cocktail for me.Then came the arugula salad with golden beets, cranberries, and pumpkin seeds in a vinaigrette with a homemade ricotta cheese it was absolutely delicious. Next we had the Spanish octopus with chorizo and beans. It seemed like it was a bean purée with Chorizo crumbles It was so good that I actually wiped the plate clean with a piece of bread. Now onto the main course, my wife had the wild boar ragu over homemade pappardelli pasta. Anyone who cooks with or eats homemade pastas knows how difficult it is to make it and have it come out al dente. This dish was off the charts. I decided to have the braised veal shank. It was fall off the bone, tender, it was rich and had a deep full flavor, kind of what dreams are made of. And for the finale, dessert. Normally we split a desert and that was the plan tonight. We chose the apple bread pudding with a caramel sauce and whipped cream. Then our waitress came back to the table to tell us of another dessert. The cheesecake with a chocolate top and buttery graham cracker crust. I will tell you, they were both a little slice of heaven. My wife dubbed it “the best meal I ever had, start to finish. “Now if I was reading this review, I would say, this guy is a shill for the owners. Not true. While we do share pleasantries with the owners and staff it’s the food that takes center stage. I will tell you we’re looking forward to our next night out at Millrock. If Millrock isn’t on your shortlist, May I suggest you put it there. It...
Read moreHands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I came to Millrock Restaurant and Bar in Windham with friends during what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway, and instead we left frustrated, angry, and shocked by how poorly we were treated.
From the moment we walked in, it was downhill. We asked to sit inside and were told it would be a 10-minute wait. No problem. We waited at the bar — where it took FIFTEEN minutes just to get acknowledged. When our drinks finally came, mine had a FLY in it and my friend’s had a HAIR. Disgusting. We stayed quiet, trying not to make a scene.
After waiting over half an hour, we were finally seated — OUTSIDE, even though we asked for inside. Again, we said nothing, trying to be polite. I ordered a Shirley Temple and was given some strange concoction stuffed with entire chunks of lemon, lime, and orange. It was completely undrinkable. The server promised us bread twice. We sat at our table for over 30 minutes watching every other table, including people who had just walked in, get served bread immediately, while we got nothing.
At that point, we finally spoke up to the hostess — and instead of an apology or even a basic attempt to make it right, we were told: “If you’re not having a good time, you could leave.”
That’s exactly what we did. After flies in drinks, hair in drinks, being sat where we didn’t want, getting ignored for bread while everyone else was served, and finally being told to leave if we weren’t happy, we had no choice.
This wasn’t just bad service — it was insulting. The attitude was dismissive, the food and drinks were unsanitary, and the entire experience was a complete waste of time. Any other restaurant in Windham is a better choice...
