I was excited to learn that this restaurant had been reopened by new owners. The restaurant appeared to be clean and freshly painted. The workers were friendly. However, I was disappointed in other ways.I hope they will accept this review as constructive criticism. I'd love to see them succeed. I wish them all the best. But, my experience was less satisfying than I'd hoped. I ordered the pulled pork platter with green beans and potato salad. The pulled pork tasted good, especially with the addition of their mild bbq sauce. However, I was disappointed to find a few lumps of fat in my pulled pork. The green beans were canned and unseasoned. The potato salad tasted like cut-up red skin potatoes covered in mayonnaise, not very tasty. Another person at my table ordered chicken tenders. They looked as though they'd been refried once or twice. A third person at our table ordered ribs. He said the texture was good, but he didn't care for the rub that was used. I hope Jim-Bob's will accept this feedback as helpful and strive to never stop improving.

Went to the soft opening of Jimbob's BBQ and was extremely disappointed. I've eaten bbq all over east Tennessee and this was not good. I got pulled pork that was mushy and had a really bad flavor. The meal came with coleslaw and a drink which I had to go back and ask for at the counter. She brought me a coleslaw and no drink and went back into the kitchen. My girlfriend got ribs and all she got were ribs in aluminum foil. She went back to get her coleslaw as well and it had a little black bug in it. The ribs were also not good. Not sure the wood they use but there was no smoked flavor profile I could taste. The sauce they had definitely didn't compliment the flavor. I am a local and won't be going back nor can I recommend a visit. Spending $30 on food that went into the garbage is not something I can afford to do. We we're really hoping to get good bbq back in Townsend.

Our nephew insisted we try Jim Bob's BBQ before we left and that child was not wrong at all, let me tell you!!!!! Talk about fall straight off the bone into your tummy ribs, they've got em!!! No chewing needed as they melt in your mouth. The pork belly burnt ends are absolutely heavenly. The smoked BBQ wings were huge and so saucy. The fries are seasoned to perfection and crispy. The fried pickles are perfect! The fried okra tasted so fresh I thought for sure someone went out back and picked it right then and fried it. The portions are phenomenal as well. If yall are in the area you need to do yourself the biggest favor ever and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed, I promise you that!!!!

There were three of us that came in ordered a hamburger, grilled cheese, a side of mac & cheese. We sat at our table at 5:28 at 6:48. Enough was enough, and we walked out. I addressed our waitress who was wonderful, not her fault telling her that we would not be staying as, we had waited far too long for food. The cook came out from the back and was beyond extremely rude. I offered to pay for my drink and he told me I’ll be damn you’ll pay for the whole order. Very unprofessional very rude. I did not get his name, nor at this point does it matter . He told me I owed him nothing for the drinks and to “get the hell out of his restaurant” I would not come to this restaurant if I was offered free food I’m starving. I should’ve listened to the patrons that were leaving they sit on the scale from 1 to 10. This restaurant was a four I should’ve . I should’ve listened to the patrons that were leaving they sit on the scale from 1 to 10. This restaurant was a four I should’ve listened , it is such a shame when the cook or whoever he was comes out and was so very weird. Not to mention he asked if I was a local or from out of town does that really matter? I’m a business owner myself I would never treat my customers the way I was treated. I feel sorry for the waitress. She was very good and extremely sweet. This was...

I've mulled this over since we were there last week. My wife and I went to Jim Bob's for supper, we ordered the burnt ends meal and the smoked chicken meal. My meal, chicken, was so dry, over cooked in the oven, not the smoker. They brought another 1/2 chicken out, "just off the smoker" ,it was not cooked thoroughly, no smoke ring or flavor. The burnt ends my wife got wasn't by any means ends, but small pieces of mixed meat in juices. It too was way overcooked and only moist because of the broth or whatever it was in. After our server talked to the owner, Jim Bob, they took the chicken dinner off of the bill. He, the owner, never came over to us to see what the issues were. He didn't have the decency to even acknowledge customers in his restaurant were unsatisfied. I personally have been smoking meats, pork, chicken, ribs, etc for over 40 yrs, yes yrs. I was a kcbs certified judge for several years. We decided that maybe the cobbler would be good, with coffee, but nooooo, they had the audacity to bring a serving of peach cobbler totally raw, yes raw. The peaches my wife said were ok, but to serve a gooey, white topped, soggy cobbler, come on. Jim Bob , you need to rethink your skills at bbq and definitely your customer relation attitude. We'll never stop at your establishment again. If anyone wants good BBQ,...

2nd time here. Just as bad as first time. 3.5 months later. My husband and I came here to eat a few months ago when they opened. Food was horribly overcooked and dry and service was so slow we waited an hour and a half for our entrees to be delivered. WE decided to give it a other try today with friends. It improved a little. Instead of waiting and hour and a half like our first visit, we only had to wait AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES FOR OUR ENTREES. ALL 4 ENTREES came out overcooked, very dry and very bland. (The cooks need some initial or refresher training to make things more edible). The portions are very small and the prices are much higher than they should be. Quality of food is horrible. If I could give a lower score than 1 star I would. Nothing we ordered had to be special made. (Brisket, ribs, pulled pork and veggies were all smoked before we got there). All it really needed was to be sliced and plated. Refill checks on drinks didn't come until the bill was being handed to us. We decided to skip dessert. This place really needs to have a process improvement team come in to light a fire under everyone. Keep your money or go...
