Normally, I'd give this place 5-stars without question. But not for my visit on 11/12/22. In order of disappointment: from being seated, it took the waiter almost 15 min to get a drink order for us. Then another 15 min to get the drinks. Then another 15-20 min to take our food order. Then...here is the big one - almost an hour to get our food! For two people! Why so long you ask? Bistro 135 is becoming a door-dash place. Forge the people inside wanting to eat. They seem to have shifted to a 90% door dash and 10% customers inside. That's fine if they want to go that route, but they should hire more staff to take on door dash only and customers inside only. They should not have the staff running around like a bunch of crazy chickens trying to multi-task beyond their ability.
So, after an hour of waiting to get our food - it gets worse. Immediately, the person I'm dining with - hair in their food. Yuck! We called over the manager. Her reply: "Sorry, but that's nobody's hair here." Yeah...that's the wrong answer Ms. Manager. The correct answer is to apologize, take the food away, off a new one or something else and comp us. It was an absolutely dreadful event.
The couple next to us. Same story. The appetizer was terrible and they returned it. Waited forever for drinks and their food. I think everyone in the restaurant was frustrated because hardly anything was getting done because of....door dash! It was probably every 6 door dashes, 1 customer inside getting attention.
And on that topic - you really need a place for your door dashers to wait. Some are dressed like homeless people. Some are dressed normally, but you know they are not there to eat and they are not a pleasant site. Shuffle them off somewhere else or outside. Inside customers are trying their best to have an elegant meal - we don't want to see someone standing there in shorts and flip-flops playing with his phone waiting to pick up an order. Sorry, not sorry if I sound snobbish about that.
And you inside eating customers. Dress it up a bit. Take some pride in your appearance. This restaurant isn't a jeans/t-shirt place. It has great potential. You just look like a hobo and degrade the restaurant & experience when you dress soooo down. Bistro 135 - take note. You need a dress code. You really do. Tracy doesn't have many high-class restaurants. Bistro 135 is one of them, but you're falling off the ledge by letting customers just wear whatever they want and becoming a door dash exclusive place. I'm not trying to compare this place to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse or Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, but Bistro 1365 has super potential to be the best in Tracy raising the bar.
As I said - this place would normally get a 5-star. This is my goto anniversary place. Birthday place for that someone special. Or just a romantic date night. But this time...sorry Bistro, you...
Read moreWe were very excited to try Bistro 135. It ended in total disappointment. My wife and I decided to do a date night in Tracy and find a nice place to eat. The restaurant itself looked very promising with outdoor seating and it was a very nice evening. We were seated promptly and asked our water preference as we were chose our table. After being seated we were ignored for about 10 to 15 minutes before being asked again what kind of water we preferred. We told the server and they went off to get the water and returned pretty quick. We sat there for another long few minutes before one of the servers asked if we'd been attended to. We said no and he said what's going on around here? I said that's what I want to know. I was not rude and spoke a little playfully but he understood my displeasure. He sent someone out to get our drink order and I thought it best to go ahead and order our entrees at this rate. The same server that checked on is before came it again as we waited, again for several minutes and asked about our drinks. I told him what we ordered and the drinks were finally brought out. It took another few minutes for the food to come out. I told my wife this service has been horrible, let's hope the food makes up for it. It didn't! My spaghetti was made with angel hair pasta and it was so dry and clumping together. It was hard to eat. The chicken was cooked well at least, but I chose an Italian restaurant for the pasta. It was tasteless. My wife's pesto was a little better but nothing to write home about. Not much for taste either. My entree tasted like something you could have bought at Trader Joe's. I rarely give a 1 Star review but this 1 star was well earned. I highly don't...
Read moreSpecific to Brunches 5/4 ($120) morning and 5/10 ($170) afternoon. In 2022-2024 had a few dinners here that were excellent though been awhile since I had dinner here (previous ownership i think)
Was excited for new Brunch place as favorite meal. Very happy reservations taken. See my reviews almost always positive.
5/4 ordered partner and cream/berries wife ordered something and ordered for 1 kid. Food 4* and service excellent, had 3 drinks. Our baby nibbled both times. I liked being able to order bailey’s & coffee & a mimosa :-)
5/10 fiancée 2 kids & sister ordered crabcake benedict i think and this is a dish you should not serve unless you have it dialed in which they don’t. Crab wasn’t fresh and Eggs way overcooked which is the opposite of what is required. Sent it back and she drank 2 cocktails instead as she was bummed. Her and my fiancée were so Hot and this place needs to buy an air conditioner or upgrade. While it was a hot day you cannot make everyone sweat for so long while charging premium $ and also not having a very specific dish (crab) dialed in.
I will not be going back at a cost of $210 and $150 (I don’t penalize waitresses for mediocre experiences). I went 2 weeks in a row, sat inside and have a general feel for the brunch.
While i enjoyed my food, for the cost of the food/drinks and misery of my family with being so hot inside/temperature (this is an infrastructure issue which someome has chosen not to correct; i’m confident this is something that has been reported before) is not worth it. Too many places that do it right, though means i will have to travel out of tracy when not visiting Town & Country Brunch when i can tolerate waiting (no...
