Purgatory Whiskey Bar & Craft Beer — Restaurant in Tracy

The “owner” didn’t believe me when I said that “I have time today” but I hope I catch her attention now. Every action has a consequence, and when you take the chance to racially profile clients at a very average Tracy bar you may be exposed. Now this post may not affect everyone, but I can tell you that it ruined the start of my birthday weekend, and the owner’s pride to not make things right is my ammunition. By simply giving a handshake to another black man who they deemed too drunk (although there were many “other” men sitting down drunker than he was getting served) changed the bartender’s opinion in terms of serving. They classified us all as one and said we were being “reckless.” She even came back later and realized her mistake but couldn’t admit her wrong and apologize. It’s an average bar at best and this “owner” hides in the back when her bartenders do all the work. For the record, the bartenders did not agree with this woman...

I've visited purgatory multiple times and have had a good experience each time! The atmosphere is very cool and just right for a whiskey bar feel. The staff is very nice and very quick! I haven't had the typical experience of having to muscle my way in or yell my order numerous times just to get a beer.

The location is also excellent being in downtown tracy with easy parking (besides the really busy days during events and such).

Their selection is excellent as well. Their drafts are changing, but always good beer to choose from. Whiskey and scotch selection is epic... it's going to take me a lot of visits to try them all. It's a tough job but I think I'm up for it. Lol. Cocktails and wine is stocked up too! And they have a nice small food menu which is a nice compliment to their drink choices.

Oh my gosh, I had an absolute blast at Purgatory! 🌟 This place is like a warm hug on a chilly day, with an awesome selection of craft beers and cocktails that will make your taste buds dance! I kicked things off with the pretzel and beer cheese appetizer, and let me tell you, it was so scrumptious that I had to ask for a box just to stop myself from devouring it all in one go! 😋

And those prime rib sliders? Wowza! They were a feast for the eyes and the palate—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor! 🎉 The bartender was an absolute gem, full of personality and a master mixologist! 🍹 Huge shoutout for the fantastic service!
