We dined at this eatery on "one other occasion" and on that occasion, the experience was "OK" as far as the food experience was concerned.
Several weeks later we tried to place an order but on that occasion, was advised that they did not have a "delivery driver" so we opted to dine elsewhere.
On this occasion, the restaurant said they had a "delivery driver" so we decided to place an order.
My first problem was in communicating with the person on the other end who was trying to take our order.
The "female" who took our call had a hard time "comprehending our home address" and I had to repeat myself numerous times, even to the point of spelling it out.
She was either hard of hearing or did not understand English, which was frustrating.
It took them almost an hour before our order was delivered. When I checked my order, the Sweet & Sour Pork was missing.
On my first attempt in calling the restaurant, I was received by the same female voice who kept saying "hello" before hanging up!
My second attempt was met with, "this number has been disconnected?"
On my third attempt, I got through and spoke with the same person who took our initial order. After clarifying what occurred, "I was initially told that everything was delivered, which made the whole conversation more exasperating in disputing that it had not."
To compound the matter was the fact that the female on the other end had trouble understanding our conversation.
When the matter was finally resolved, she said that she would call the driver and straighten things out.
THE FOOD:
The "Kra Praw Fried Rice," did not look or taste anything like fried rice and after several mouthfuls of this "warm" concoction, I bit into a "small" stone or pebble... "No really, I did!"
The rice itself was a dark brown color and tasted way to much like soy sauce. Fried rice was supposed to be light in color and what I got looked more like "brown rice?"
I'm sorry, but this dish lacked any color or other ingredients that's usually associated with a fried rice recipe.
The My Thai Chicken Salad was fresh and this was the only dish that tasted like what you ordered but then again, "How can you screw up a plain salad?" The only difference here is in their sauce.
I ordered two "Yellow Curry" dishes. One was with meat and the other was "supposed to be just vegetables."
What we received was two "tall plastic containers," containing a yellow liquid with "traces" of vegetables or meat.
There was no substance to the curry, which was more of a bouillabaisse and the two containers looked more like soup than curry. The taste also didn't resemble any curry dish that I had. It had the spices of curry but lacked the flavor.
The "Thai egg rolls" were luke warm and the soggy. The egg rolls themselves definitely lacked any flavor and there wasn't any "crunch factor."
There wasn't any plum sauce like advertised in their menu, but instead we received a "vinegary fish sauce."
I'm not sure if they ran out of "plum sauce" but the "fish sauce" didn't compliment the egg rolls.
45 minutes after most of us had finished our meal, the delivery driver returned to give us our missing order of "Sweet & Sour."
When I greeted him, he first wanted to know how many containers I received. I told I didn't know?
"I'm thinking, shouldn't the delivery driver know what was ordered before he left the restaurant to ensure that each delivery was accurate? Guess not."
He then said, "I'm sorry, I must've accidentally given it to someone else." "Wow really...." Enough said :-/
When the pork sweet and sour "finally arrived," everyone was finished with their meals. This order was the only order, which was delivered "hot."
To say I was disappointed is an understatement with this whole experience and I don't think we will dine here in the future. This meal was definitely not worth the $62.00 I...
Read moreTracy has some really amazing Thai restaurants and being a fan of thai cuisine its a dream run for us. We used to be a big fan of Thai Jasmine nothing wrong with them, but the fact that they close their kitchen 30 min before close and twice our to-go being not so flavorful kind of diverted our attention towards this one. Our favorite dishes always being Pad kee mao, Pad thai, kra graw fried rice, fried egg rolls, smosas and Thai fried rice. They adjust the spice levels really well and the best part is their packaging for to-go orders, their containers have vents for hot air to pass out and food itself in an aluminium foil. I feel this step of theirs helps us to relish the real taste even in to-go. Otherwise the food is fresh, pad kee mao has a really good texture, taste and aroma to it. Particularly the fact that they get digested really quick adheres to the fact that they refrain using MSG in their foods. Price is really competitive and service is ultra-fast. The one thing that tracy doesn't carry that sala thai in fremont used to have is fried chicken over fried rice. some "pad gai thod" would have been nice if they had those. Overall. I would rate this place like 0.5 stars higher than others just for the fact that their taste, quantity, quality and service has been...
Read moreI am not why people are giving high rating for this restaurant, I would give ZERO starts if allowed. We were a party of 5, two kids and three adults, first off for the portions it's pricey. We ordered Fresh Roll, Pad Thai, Kra Praw Fried Rice with Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice with Pork, Mango Salad, 1 Thai tea, and for desert Fried Banana with Honey. The Kra Praw rice was overcooked and mushy also it did not have many chicken pieces , I told the waiter who said we add only so much for one portion, OK, Fresh Roll was average, Pineapple rice was ok to good (being $11.45), Mango salad was bad, something in the salad tasted stale!! Pad thai was very oily, 2 medium prawns, some Tofu, and maybe 1 piece of chicken, next, Fried banana with honey, it's not actual honey, it's cheap flavored maple syrup (corn syrup).
Finally the bill arrived, I paid with my credit card, then the catch, the waiter comes back and says we include 15% mandatory gratuity since you are 5 people, and he comes back with another bill, considering the 9 year old kid who hardly ate anything because she did not like the food, I don't know how we are 5 people. We paid and left. Not coming back for sure. Beware people, I hope my review...
