Firebird Pizza — Restaurant in Traverse City

During my visit to Michigan with my family and a friend, a local recommended this pizza place — and it truly exceeded our expectations. The “create-your-own” concept with unlimited toppings lets you be the owner of your own pizza, making it a fun and interactive experience. The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and meeting the owners added a personal touch to our visit.

As someone who owns a pizzeria myself, I can say this place really knows what they’re doing — from quality ingredients to customer service. Might be my new favorite pizza in TC! The “topping bar” customization is fabulous. They offer some things you won’t find at most pizza places (fresh arugula!), and the drizzles really take it over the top. There’s one size, about 12”, easily feeds 2, and with unlimited toppings the price is great. Sauce was delicious and crust was yummy, crisp and bubbly at the edge but maybe a tad soggy in the center. The thin sausage slices crisped up beautifully. Lots of topping options for vegetarians and also a GF crust option. Service was fast and friendly. Not sure I would eat in since the place is shared with a BBQ and the air smelled kind of smoky. Will definitely return...

I've been eagerly following their progress on social media, and today I finally got to have lunch there. The service was lightning fast, the staff were super friendly, and the place was spotless—even the restroom! The pizza was pretty tasty. While I usually prefer a thicker crust throughout the whole pie, it was still quite good. Which is why I only gave it 4 stars for the food.
