The Beverage Company — Local services in Traverse City

Edit: Nathan’s attitude was notably unpleasant. When I approached the counter to ask about a product, he seemed disinterested and gave me short responses. The funny thing is, I wasn't talking to him. Additionally, Nathan was not very knowledgeable about how they handled bottles sitting behind the counter. (Then why are you talking) It was evident that he wasn't well-versed, which is disappointing for a customer service representative. I left my bottle on the counter and walked out. Overall, my experience with Nathan was underwhelming and left a lot to be desired. Other employees have been pleasant and easy to work with.

I'm also addressing this because this is the best liquor store in town and would hate to see one person tarnish this spot.

I've been consistently impressed with BevCo. They have the best selection of beer and spirits in town. What stands out most is their customer service, with the exception of Nathan. The Beverage Company should exist in every city. Not only because of the variety of beer, but because of the staff's friendly expertise. For instance, I wanted a Dragon's Milk, and the owner/manager (I assume) brought me to where I needed to be, and pointed out that there are in fact three varieties, and that I would be remiss not to try the S'more version. (It turns out to be one of the best beers I've ever had.)

On top of this, when inquiring about Southern Tier seasonal offerings, I caught a glimpse of something I hadn't seen in ages: a Unibroue Grand Reserve 17. I cannot say enough. This establishment has always been (in over 15 years that I've known about them) the best. The selection is what you would expect in a first rate liquor store, and the local beer, wine, and spirits are all there. When you walk in you will notice they don't waste time making things look pretty. They make it quick and easy to get on and out with lots of alcohol! The even better part is the staff who are beyond friendly and helpful. The kind of service that don't pretend to know something, and they won't try to sell you something you don't need.
