First, I want to say that if you have an Amazon return and do not need any services or assistance then this store is perfectly adequate. Serving basically as an Amazon hub is not difficult so I will give them credit where due.
However, if you need true shipping assistance then I would recommend you visit another UPS store not owned by this franchisee. I had a shipment that needed a signature and I was out of town so arranged for it to be held at this UPS store which was confirmed by my seller. I went to the counter and provided my name and the person waiting on me could not find a package. I stepped away from the counter to find the email confirmation as I could understand why they might not be able to find the package with only my name and no tracking number. Another employee stepped up and offered to help to which I declined as she would not have been able to find the package either unless I could provide some better information. Both of those employees were polite and attempted to help me.
Where the experience went wrong is when the owner stepped up and said she would “take care of this”. I then provided the email confirmation with the tracking number and she said there was no package. I indicated that I had paid to have the package held to which she replied “ we are a franchise that has nothing to do with our store and that I needed to go back to the seller.” Her demeanor was dismissive, curt, and not helpful. I paid a fee to UPS for this hold. No explanation and it makes no sense. Who at UPS got the hold fee then? Maybe taking a moment to explain rather than making sure she was “in command” would have been more helpful.
When I walked away I said that “ I would not do this again” meaning I would not have packages held by UPS anymore. As I walked away she made a snide remark about me to her employees laughing about the exchange.
I am looking at other reviews with similar feedback on the service at this franchise. It is clear I am not the only customer who has had customer service issues and unfortunately the business responses to these reviews are equally curt, dismissive, and blame...
   Read moreWow! Have been trying to resolve an issue of how i was treated after i was defending another customer who was being verbally badgered by an employee. I am not going to be petty and name names. They know who they are.....would highly recommend a job not dealing customers. I was in customer service for just short of 40 years and never seen such a display. I made mistakes many times in customer service but always tried to remedy and learn from them. Some of the best customers were ones that there was an issue with and how things got resolved. During trying to remedy this situation I was basically shamed, like it was my fault and itold things that were not true. I was asked what we could do to resolve this? I just asked for a simple apology. But I guess that does not happen these days. So now there is another UPS store which I used to use on 14th street 1.6 miles further. I used to use them them years ago for business and was always treated feindly and with respect. Anyone need help getting packages there opposed to, glad to help. It will be innteresting to see how many good reviews pop up after mine, just like the tactic Amazon sellers use to combat negative ones to keep their star average up. Like perking customers to leave good ones. I WILL ALSO BE CURIOUS TO SEE THE RESPONSE I GET, IF ANY ! I encourage readers to actually read the reviews and the responses they get and the draft reply used, so impersonal As stated they do not make mistakes. Because they do everything by the book. I am not a vindictive person and tried to resolve this by email without leaving a review. But the excuses kept coming, and i was not treated very well in those emails. I just cannot get over how the other customer was being treated. I pay for a service, you do not have to be warm and fuzzy but I do not pay to be treated like that..and cannot and will not stand and watch someone else be treated like that either. Over the last year I have regularly used this location to ship artwork to my clients from my business. I will say that until now I have never had anything broken which they have packaged … but this current situation is 100% due to lack of proper packaging . A large , heavy , ceramic sculpture was wrapped loosely in a couple layers of bubble wrap and thrown in a box. The sculpture was NOT secured in the box. It was double boxed and the inside box barely closed because the top of the sculpture was hitting it. This should have been cushioned all the way around so that zero movement could have occurred. It arrived broken, and not to add insult to injury, UPS and their latest scam, says that because the recipient signed up for something called “MY CHOICE” that they are not liable for any of the damage. Well then what did I pay insurance for ? Did someone run up onto the clients porch and break the sculpture!? You guys always try to skate out of any accountability. The client only allows packages in her neighborhood to be left because she is elderly and uses a cane. Having to drive to ups to pick up a heavy package is difficult.
