We’ve been to this subway plenty of times, and will be back despite of this bad review. Why? Trenton is a small town, with mostly fast food, pizza, or more unhealthy options. Subway isn’t super heathy but a better option than Chinese or fried chicken.
Anywho. The staff at this place rotates every 6 months it seems. Depends on the school year. Mostly students running the show. But the owner of this particular franchise must be a real jerk because the staff turnover is so high.
They need to fully replace their ice machine because it’s broken half the time, especially in the summer. The owner has about 10 security cameras inside the place to watch the staff horse around, but won’t get better equipment for the patrions to have good full service. Always fruit flys around the drink station.
A few other reviews mentioned the staffs attitude and that’s true depending on what group is in there. It’ll change in 6 months. Last night we were rushed and totally inconveniencing the kids working. They even complained out loud that a car just pulled up outside with a big family coming in.
The food is ok. It subway. If you’ve been here before you know what it tastes like. They are out of my favorite bread most of the time. They don’t skimp on the proteins usually, but when it gets to veggies and condiments they will either over do it and make the sandwich sloppy, or just put a few leaves or peppers on there. Just no consistency. But that’s across the board with most sandwiche chains.

That’s sad to say because I typically frequent this subway because it’s literally right beside my house. The staff here is rude, unsanitary and don’t understand what “fresh” ingredients look like. Why are you serving hard bread, tuna that is crusty and lettuce that is brown? I work in the food industry as well and would not feel comfortable serving half the food they put on sandwiches let alone have it displayed for the public to see all day. That’s embarrassing. I stood in line as the only customer there with 3 employees working and they took roughly 10 minutes to speak to me. They were too busy making an online order. With 3 staff members one should at least help the customers standing right in front of their face. The music playing from the back is not even close to work appropriate. The man making online orders was sick and kept touching his face with the gloves that he made every single sub with. This has to be one of the worst and most unsanitary subways...

They looked like deer in headlights when asked for deluxe meat and cheese. After explaining what that was, twice, they said they didn't have that, never heard of it, and acted oddly, like they wanted to be anyplace except there, while making sandwiches. Dining area was filthy. Sandwich ingredients were mixed up in bins. It was just icky. Used coupon and it was just entirely too much for them to handle. It took three employees to enter the coupon. Why two stars? They gave me two "free" cookies to "make up" for the problems. When reading the receipt later, I discovered I was charged for one cookie even though a free cookie came with each sub as part of a current...
