Gilly's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Troy

Before we moved to Troy, my family and I used to talk about how amazing it would be to have a local ice cream shop the kind of place where everyone knows your name and the ice cream actually tastes homemade. Then, right in the middle of the pandemic, bam! Gilly’s opened its doors, and it’s been a dream come true ever since.

Gilly’s isn’t just an ice cream shop, it’s a part of our family’s story. The owners, Lanae and Kathleen, pour their hearts into every scoop. The service is always warm, the atmosphere is always welcoming, and the ice cream? Hands down, the best we’ve ever had, creamy, fresh, and scooped with so much love.

They’ve become a staple at our son’s birthdays, and now whenever he asks for ice cream, the first words out of his mouth are, “Can we go to Gilly’s?” 🩵 That says it all!

We’re so grateful for Gilly’s, not just for the incredible ice cream, but for the joy, kindness, and community they’ve built. Troy wouldn’t be the same without them.

The place is open and spacious, clean, and there are plenty of tables and chairs that seat four or five people. I would add two people tables and chairs along the wall. The person behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The ice cream was good. The prices are a bit higher than some of the ice cream shops around, but the scoop ice cream is a premium brand, so you pay for what you get. It was my family's first visit, and it made them happy. This is my family's new go-to ice cream place! My kids love the eye sprinkles and the fun, unique, and delicious flavors. The homemade waffle cones are incredible, and there are always new flavors of ice cream to try (today I had the lemon lavender- SO GOOD).

The owners are friendly, and don't push up-selling you like so many chains do. The inside is always clean and cutely decorated. I feel like the owners genuinely enjoy their job, so the vibes are all great. We love supporting...
