I don't know where all these 5 star reviews are coming from unless we just got a terrible day? Service was mediocre, and food was so bad we brought almost all of it home for the dogs. To start our server came off with an attitude. I said we will take the sampler to start, she then asked if we were ready to order and I said we will just take the sampler to start and she stormed away without saying a word. Then proceeded to walk by our table multiple times without asking if we were ready to order. The sampler came with 3 cheese sticks, a few onion rings, and a few fried mushrooms that tasted and looked like great value Walmart brand that already had ranch spilled onto them when they were set on our table. We ordered steak which came with a dinner roll and two sides. Well we didn't get either of our dinner rolls, or the side salad that was ordered with the steak as one of the sides. The steak we asked to be medium and it was so well done it was the texture of beef jerky we each ate one bite and packed the rest of our steaks up for the dogs because it was terrible. The broccoli was undercooked and had no flavor of any kind. The only napkins we had were the one napkin each our silverware was wrapped in which was used to clean off my steak knife that was brought out on top of my steak covered in grease and fat. When paying I was asked how everything was and I stated "I mean it was okay I guess" and they replied good with no questions asked. I can't say I've ever had a worst experience anywhere I've ever eaten out when you combine the service with the lack of food and lack of the food we did get not being good and I'm not the type to complain or leave bad reviews at restaurants but this was flat out terrible experience. The worst $60...
Read moreIn spite of the fact that I've lived in the area for a long time, I had never eaten at Lincoln Square. It seems I haven't been missing very much. Granted it was my first time there. We dined on a Saturday evening around 5:30. It was busy but no wait for seats and empty tables scattered here and there. Maybe the issues were mostly a short staffing problem. I ordered a three egg country omelet with steak fries and a biscuit. It was a bit of a wait to get our drink order taken. An even longer wait for our party of four to be served. The omelete was fine. Nothing special, it's an omelet you know? Not much can be done to make it special. It was hot and fluffy, that's good enough for me. However the potatoes are a different story. Ordering steak fries I received hash browns. Hash browns are usually fried until there's a nice brown crust on them. These looked like grated raw potatoes. They tasted more like raw potatoes than anything else. Cold, raw potatoes. They had been heated a little but not much. My best description of them is, a bland after thought. The biscuit was warm but it wasn't like any biscuit I've had before. In the right hands that could be a good thing. Not so in this case. It was more like a yeast roll than a biscuit. It's very affordable to eat there. My meal ( I had water to drink) was $10.99. My wife enjoyed her chicken wraps. The bill for both of us was $23.00 and change. Next time I visit I hope I'm able to rate them...
Read moreI asked someone who is a local if I had picked the right place to meet family for breakfast and she said "Absolutely!" She was correct!
This place is busy, but this staff definitely knows how to hustle. Our waitress was prompt, courteous, and friendly. The food was very well prepared and no one at our table had any complaints about their food at all.
The food came out very fast, and everything tasted just like it should. They allowed me to sub extra bacon for the sausage link, and I asked for crispy bacon and got perfectly cooked bacon. The pancakes were thick and the scrambled eggs were scrambled as they should be, not flat, like you get at other places where it looks like somebody stirred them once and let them cook.
The atmosphere is comfortable, as is the seating. The air conditioner was definitely pumping out cool air. They have substantial shades they can draw down to run between the tables and provide a little extra privacy as well as noise reduction.
The manager was running to and fro, eagle eyeing everything, making sure that everything was right, even bussing and cleaning tables - doing whatever was needed to keep this place running like a well-oiled machine.
I am really glad we chose this place for breakfast and when I'm in the area...
