I've never eaten at a “Claim Jumper” restaurant before and I was on a business trip to the Portland area. I saw this restaurant not far from the office I was working at, and decided after a long exhausting day, where I had skipped lunch to get takeout and dine back in my hotel room. I was not disappointed, but I was very hungry, as I had skipped lunch. I ordered the lemon pepper zucchini appetizer with ranch dressing and a large delicious Cobb salad. As soon as I get back to the hotel, I started to consume the delicious warm fried zucchini appetizer and realized when it was almost finished that I had not taken a photo! Sorry! The Cobb salad was delicious with generous amounts of turkey, blue cheese, tomatoes, crumbled crisp bacon, sliced fresh avocado and diced hard-boiled egg. The appetizer and Cobb salad were delicious and exactly what I was hoping for dinner. Hope to return during my next visit to Portland! The only negative was, I was visiting from out of town and at 8 PM when I picked up my dinner I was so tired I didn't think to verify they had included plastic cutlery (although when I ordered online I did specifically requested it). Fortunately, as a seasoned traveler, I always try to remember to pack some plastic cutlery just in case. Eating a salad with your fingers is a tough thing to master!

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY- trust me. This kitchen is SO poorly managed that they could not produce one single item correctly. Not a single one. Imagine paying for delivery and having something wrong with every single thing in the order. It’s incredibly disappointing. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. You would think that they would make sure that the orders were completed appropriately. But last night, I paid for a Caesar salad, and was delivered a handful of dry lettuce. It seems a little presumptuous for this restaurant, to think that their lettuce is so superior that I would want to have someone drive it to me from Tualatin all the way to Beaverton. I’m kidding…. I know it was because multiple people were not doing their job on the delivery orders. 😊 Because who needs Caesar dressing on a Caesar salad, right?? 🥬 I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese, and it was plain pasta that was barely even salted, if salted at all (I don’t think it was 🤫) There was about a teaspoon of cheese sauce, located at the bottom of the container. Otherwise, the macaroni cheese had zero cheese on it, ZERO. I could have easily boiled a handful of saltless pasta at home. But I ordered delivery because I thought it would be better. I promise you it was not. When Plain Jumper first opened, their food was pretty good. But that was many years ago and apparently the food and the kitchen management has taken a nose dive. I ordered through Uber eats. And I actually ended up terminating my membership with Uber Eats yesterday over this; this is not the only restaurant who treats their delivery orders poorly. I did let Uber eats know that there was no Caesar dressing on the Caesar salad. And apparently Uber eats thought that a handful of lettuce was close enough. Not worth a refund. OH AND THE CHOWDER?! Holy heck it was bad. It was so runny that the only thing that gave it sustenance was the crackers. It was absolutely runny like broth not chowder and it was a little sour. If it was the end of the chowder, and there was nothing left in it, they should not have been serving it. There were no pickles on the sandwich. There was something wrong with EVERY single item. It was so disappointing. Anyway, don’t order delivery. It’s an absolute mess and you will spend the next day regretting it 🤪 I still have that dang lettuce in my refrigerator and it’s a reminder: No more throwing away money on simple foods that are easy to prepare at home. Loss: $55 Win: Never again 📧Additionally, the company responds to Google reviews but not to the emails that it “requests”.

I took my family to Claim Jumper Restaurants at 18000 SW Lower Boones Ferry Rd in Tualatin for Valentines Day dinner. Overall it was a good experience but there were a couple of things that were interesting. I made my reservation on Open Table and when we arrived 5 minutes early I was told that there was at least a 40 minute wait, maybe longer. My wife wanted to stay and it worked out since a lot of people left when they heard of the long wait. So we really we were seated 15 minutes after our original reservation time. The other thing was that when our server was giving us advice on the dinners they told us that they love salmon and so to order it (instead of a burger) since it is excellent here. They must have forgotten because later on after we had already been served and were eating they said that they really don’t like seafood and so they never eat it! My wife and I looked at each other and chuckled! The food was very good. I had the Trail Boss Chicken which is very tasty version of Chicken Marsala. My wife had the Surf & Surf and my kids both had the Fish & Chips. We all enjoyed the food. My wife & I really want to come back and try the Pork Belly BBQ Burger!

Overall, it was a good experience. The service was OK, the steak taste good and the best part of the meal, but mashed potatoes were a bit on the cold side by the time I had taken a couple bites. They do have gluten-free options for their main entrée, but nothing for dessert. The booth that I sat in was comfortable, but the music did not seem to fit the atmosphere.
