I am thrilled to share my experience at Tucson's newest hot spot, Agave House . Being invited to its grand opening was an absolute honor. Right from the moment we stepped in, we were treated like VIPs, thanks to their exceptional customer service. The staff made us feel truly special.
To kick off our meal, we indulged in the Crispy Brussels sprouts with a zesty lime and chili twist as our appetizer. The flavors were outstanding and left us craving for more. For our main courses, I opted for the sweet potato tacos, while my husband, went for the mouth-watering Carne asada. Both dishes were nothing short of delectable, leaving us completely satisfied.
As if that wasn't enough, we decided to conclude our delightful evening with the churros filled with creamy goodness and a luscious caramel sauce for dipping. The combination was simply divine and provided a perfect ending to our dining experience.
One aspect that truly impressed me about Agave House is their inclusive menu. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to find a wide range of options to choose from. On my next visit, I am eager to sample their enticing family recipe hearts of palm ceviche and the impresive street corn. Agave House truly caters to diverse tastes and preferences.
Even though it was their practice run, Agave House operated like a well-oiled machine. It's astonishing how seamlessly they executed their service, as if they had been in business for years. This is a testament to the exceptional skills and teamwork of their staff.
All in all, we had an outstanding experience at Agave House, and we are eagerly looking forward to returning. It's a place where you can expect outstanding customer service, a diverse and appealing menu, and an overall memorable dining experience. Don't miss out on this new...
Read moreWent as part of the Sonoran Restaurant Week experience. Had a fantastic time. The server was great! She was super attentive and made great recommendations.
Ordered the El Jardin cocktail, a spicy tequila drink. Great flavor and just the right amount of heat. The cilantro made it. My friend ordered the Nixta Sour, and it was a great take on a whisky sour.
For appetizers, we ordered the Queso Flameado, which was a queso fundido with nopales. You might have some hesitation on whether that combination works, but I assure you it does! We also had the Ahí Tuna Negra, which is essentially a deconstructed tostada. This appetizer was fantastic!
For our mains, we had what our server recommended, which was the Achiote Roasted Chicken, which had great flavor. The achiote tomatillo salsa that the chicken is bathed in makes the dish. We also had the Green Chile Enchiladas. This was the server's highest recommended plate, and she did say that enchiladas are done everywhere, so it can be hard to stand out, but those enchiladas absolutely did! It was the best thing we had all night. They come stacked rather than rolled, and with all the right ratios of salsa, shredded chicken and cheese. You're definitely going to want to try these.
For dessert, we had the Tres Leches cake. The cake is served with fresh strawberries. While we found it was delicious, it did seem to stray the furthest away from the traditional dishes. It's absolutely worth getting it, just know it may not be like the one your abuela used to make. We also had the churros for dessert, as recommended by our server. We really enjoyed these as well.
They're open late, and the ambience was nice. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at this restaurant and will definitely be...
Read moreThe floor was sticky, you could hear that tearing sound as you lifted your shoes as you walk. The shrimp ceviche was pretty good, definitely made in-house, and the ahi tuna was good, too. As for the quesabirria taco, it was closer to alright than it was to good, the meat itself had no flavor. The achiote roasted chicken was perfectly moist and juicy inside, but it completely bland, there was no trace of chicken flavor, no trace of salt or any seasoning. The rice was fluffy and light but average - I can't put a finger on it, but it wasn't great, overall. As for the service, they just grabbed our plate when they thought we were done without asking if we were done - it was a little disappointing because we were using the sauce from the tuna to try and add some flavor to the chicken (I know it sounds desperate, but it was that bland), but they just took our makeshift sauce without asking, and we didn't even have time to react. Would I go back? For the ceviche and the tuna, probably, but certainly not for any...
