Disappointing Experience at Tucson Marriott Hotel I recently stayed at the Tucson Marriott Hotel and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. First and foremost, I was disappointed to find that I couldn't connect an HDMI cable to the TV in order to play video games. As someone who values entertainment options, this limitation was quite frustrating. Moreover, the overall cleanliness of the room left me feeling uncomfortable. The sink was clogged, which made basic hygiene tasks a challenge. Adding to the discomfort, I was surprised to find that there was no microwave in the room. This lack of a basic amenity was unexpected and inconvenient, especially for guests who might want to heat up leftovers or prepare a quick snack. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the value for the price I paid. The rates at the Tucson Marriott Hotel are rather high, but the quality of the experience did not match up. I expected a certain level of comfort and convenience for the price, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Also, I encountered hygiene issues in the restroom as well. I found hairs that didn't belong to me, which greatly impacted my perception of the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the room. Additionally, I took the initiative to call Marriott customer service in hopes of finding a solution to some of these issues and alleviating my discontent. Regrettably, my interaction with the customer service representative was far from satisfactory. When I explained the problems I was facing, their response was simply, "I don't know." This lack of assistance and guidance was disheartening, as I had expected Marriott to be responsive and proactive in addressing guests' concerns. All in all, my stay at the Tucson Marriott Hotel fell short of my expectations on multiple fronts. I hope that the hotel can address these concerns to provide a better experience for future guests. As a dedicated member of the Marriott loyalty program, my disappointment with the experience at the Tucson Marriott Hotel was particularly disheartening. I have long held a positive view of Marriott properties and have chosen to stay with them due to the perceived quality and service they offer. However, the recent couple stays have left me seriously considering a switch to Holiday Inns. Not only are Holiday Inns often better priced, but they consistently provide a similar level of value, if not better. This experience has led me to question whether the loyalty I've shown to Marriott is truly being reciprocated in terms of the quality and satisfaction I expect as a loyal customer.

My recent stay at the Tucson Marriott at University Park was nothing short of a complete disaster. From the moment I arrived until the time of my departure, I encountered a myriad of issues that tainted my experience and left me utterly dissatisfied with the hotel's overall quality and service.

First and foremost, the room I was assigned was plagued with problems. Multiple electrical outlets, including the USB outlets on the nightstand and desk, were non-functional. This inconvenience hampered my ability to charge my devices and disrupted my stay from the very beginning. Moreover, the bathroom door did not lock properly, leaving me and my family feeling uncomfortable and lacking the privacy we expected.

Cleanliness was another significant concern throughout the hotel. Underneath the pull-out couch in my room, I discovered a disheartening layer of uncleanliness that indicated a lack of attention to detail and proper housekeeping. On the balcony, I was appalled to find an old cup filled with cigarette butts, highlighting a complete disregard for cleanliness and guest comfort.

The lack of cleanliness extended beyond the rooms. The hallways were riddled with neglect, particularly the ledge adorned with decorative rocks. It was coated with a thick layer of dust, suggesting that it hadn't been cleaned in ages. This unsightly negligence cast serious doubts on the hotel's commitment to hygiene and overall maintenance standards.

To make matters worse, the service at the bar was exceptionally poor. The bartender took an excruciatingly long time to acknowledge my presence and serve me. Worst of all I was the ONLY person at the bar. This lack of attentiveness and slow service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the hotel's dedication to customer satisfaction.

Lastly, the design flaw in the shower doors allowed water to accumulate on the bathroom floor. This not only caused inconvenience but also presented a safety hazard, as slippery floors pose a risk to guests. It is deeply concerning that such a fundamental aspect of bathroom design was overlooked.

In summary, my experience at the Tucson Marriott at University Park was marred by a multitude of issues. From the non-functional outlets, lack of cleanliness in various areas, faulty bathroom door, and shower doors allowing water puddles to form, to the neglected hallways and slow service at the bar, every aspect of my stay was riddled with disappointment.

I implore the management of the Tucson Marriott at University Park to address these grievances promptly and take immediate action to rectify these problems. Until significant improvements are made to the hotel's electrical infrastructure, cleanliness protocols, customer service, and maintenance standards, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to any future guests seeking a pleasant and...

Decent Location Near the University, That’s About It

Location: If you need to stay near the University of Arizona, this hotel is in a prime location, just steps away from campus. However, aside from its proximity to the university, there isn’t much else that makes this property stand out.

Parking: Valet parking is available and the staff is friendly and efficient. The cost is $25 per night plus taxes, which is fairly standard for the area.

Check-In Experience: The front desk staff was welcoming and accommodating, which was one of the few highlights of my stay. However, I experienced issues with multiple rooms, and while they did their best to accommodate me, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired.

Room Experience: Although the hotel has undergone some updates, it feels more like a “lipstick on a pig” renovation rather than a true refresh. The rooms show significant wear and tear—damaged furniture, stained sheets, and an air filter that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages.

• My first room had a strong odor and was extremely noisy. • My second room was still noisy and not very clean. • My third room was slightly better, but the noise from nearby college bars kept me awake until 2 AM each night.

Even on the club level, which I was upgraded to, the experience didn’t improve much. The club lounge is closed on weekends and looks like it hasn’t been updated since 1999.

Amenities: The gym was a good size and well-equipped, which was a plus. However, there is no pool, which may be a downside for some travelers.

Food & Beverage: The hotel has an onsite restaurant and coffee shop. I had breakfast at the restaurant and the service was good, with a wide variety of options on the buffet. That said, the best dining experiences are actually outside the hotel—there are great local restaurants and shops nearby, which I highly recommend exploring.

Would I Stay Again? No. While the staff was excellent, the hotel itself is not worth it. The constant noise from nearby bars, even after switching rooms twice, made it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Between the wear and tear of the rooms, the lack of real upgrades, and the subpar overall experience, I would not stay here again.

If you’re looking for a convenient stay near the University of Arizona, this hotel may work for you—but if you want comfort, quiet, and a well-maintained property, you’ll be better...
