Will be trying this place tonight and might update after the experience. Giving one star for the following reason:
My wife called in to make a reservation. John Nguyen answered the phone, and told her they do not take reservations. My wife let him know that the website said they did, to which he replied, "we don't have a website" then hung up on her.
I called back and asked to speak to the manager. I let John know that I dialed online through their website, which they do, in fact, have. He let me know that he was the manager, then proceeded to say, "and I'm the only one here so who do you expect to talk to?" Then hung up on my as well.
I was so shocked. I could not stop laughing. Just absolutely absurd. I'll try the place tonight to allow the chance for them to changed my opinion.
Edit: after reading the reviews (prompted by the rudeness on the phone) and looking through the details of the 1 and 2 start reviews concerning poor customer service, cleanliness, and misrepresentation of menu items, we've decided it is not worth the time or money to give this place a try.
This highlights the importance of good staffing...
Read moreSaigon Pho used to be really good. It used to have an extensive menu full of vegan options. Every table used to have sauce rack. It used to be an inviting place, with comfortable sitting and excellent atmosphere. The baguettes alone were worth the visit.
The new owners have taken all that away. They have no appreciation for Vietnamese food. The baguettes are gone. The new menu has basically no vegan options. The atmosphere is gone. It now feels like a generic place. The excellent array of sauces is basically gone. Cutlery is cheap plastic. Food itself was of low quality and overpriced. The cilantro in fried rice looked like it wanted to die.
Just looking at the interior, you would have no idea you were in a Vietnamese place. There is loud and irrelevant music. I think the new owners don't care about Vietnamese food and just wanted to ride on the glory of the old place. It's unfortunate that they have destroyed an establishment beloved by vegetarians like me. I won't be visiting the...
Read moreThis is our favorite pho place in town. We come here at least every other week. There are options for vegans and they’re one of the only places that have a good vegetable broth for pho. My issue with the visit today was the girl behind the counter who took our order. She must’ve been no older than maybe 19, a brunette with glasses and a huge camo jacket. She kept her earphones in the entire time, including while we were ordering. Didn’t say anything else other than the total. When our food came out I asked for a different sauce than originally comes with the spring rolls because I’m not a fan of peanut sauce. She argued with me that they didn’t have it, and cut me off while I was speaking then walked away. We’re been eating here for years and they always have the sauce. She could’ve at least went to the kitchen to make sure. I have never experienced anyone so rude at this place. If she doesn’t like food service maybe she should go...
