HORRIBLE SERVICE. Unfortunately I have to edit this review to show what my service was like. 9-5-22 Came here to celebrate my sons bday. We have come to this place plenty of times. Many, many, many times. After today's treatment I doubt we will be back. The blonde lady that brought out our food was extremely rude after I mentioned I cannot eat lactose. She made a comment and said tell him to take it off himself. After that she rolled her eyes at me and was rude. When the replacement dish came out it was cold. Seems like they got the original molcajete and emptied into a cold molcajete. I know molcajetes are always boiling out. That to me was a very sneaky move on top of the rude service from the blonde waitress with her hair down which is a food safety violation. Every good moment i had at this place has been completely replaced by this horrible experience. My sons birthday celebration was ruined. ( This was my original review-After coming to this place Always the best service and food. This place is great!) Unfortunately today's service was extremely horrible. We have literally come to this place at least 1 a week and we travel and hour to come to this place. After this I'd rather take my business elsewhere. If it wasn't for having such a big party with us I would've left.

Hidden gem in Tucson! Superb seafood, amazing asada, and bangin' beans! The shrimp toritos are a unique appetizer of yellow chiles stuffed with shrimp machaca and wrapped with bacon. We saw this on a Tucson Mexican food trading card and decided to go try it. The bacon on the outside was crispy and added a nice texture and saltiness. We also got the Veracruz style fish fillet which was another dish I never had before and was super tasty. The white meat fish was incredibly tender and the juicy sauce soaked into the rice nicely and the tiny stuffed olives added a nice acidity. The carne asada here is so tender and flavorful and we got it stuffed in a whole green chile with jack cheese. The plate came with the best refried beans I've ever had, a small cheese quesadilla with really fresh mild cheese and extra tortillas. The flour tortillas are so tasty I could eat them plain and the pico is fresh and has a nice spicy kick to it. Portions were very generous. Clear plastic partitions are put up between the booths which I appreciated. Staff is very friendly and helpful. High chairs available for young children.

I would first like to say, the food, service and atmosphere were excellent but I do have one thing that I feel like the restaurant should address. I ordered a shrimp salad. On the menu it stated house salad accompanied with mandarin oranges, almonds, cranberries with grilled shrimp on top with a raspberry dressing. What I got was the HOUSE salad which was lettuce tomatoes red onions carrots cabbage red peppers avocados cucumbers with your choice of dressing....with shrimp. Two very different things and very confusing since the shrimp salad states on the menu its the house salad......again, I enjoyed my meal but it might be a good idea to maybe correct the menu so there is no confusion because people might be ordering one because they have allergies to ingredients of the other.

Hostess/caahier seemed nice and well mannered; yet, I asked for some drinks in restaurant waiting area. She responder that it is not possible I was told, go to the bar. My mother is 93, celebrating her birth. Both mother and wife are disabled...so we sat in a booth in the bar(west side) . Waiting and no service. So I inquired with the same hostess. She responded that we would not get service to the booth, Never served there, besides she didn't have a waitress for that area. So I offered to walk 2 paces and order from the bar. I was told we could not drink there specifically. So I asked if could get a place and restaurant and have drinks served. The hostess said they didn't serve alcohol in the restaurant. That surprised me, since the license is for the whole place. So again I inquired as to where could we wait and have drink in the meantime or until we got a table or booth in the restaurant ...and that both my mother and wife required to sit. I was motioned and told by hostess to the bar's west side, since the bar on this side was full. We walked to that end, with only high stools and no low chairs/tables, nor sitting capacity existed for disabled/ elderly customers. ..To which, I again inquired nicely, and told her of the situation...her response was that it's our choice, like it or not that's the way it is. I told her your restaurant or you presently are unable and unwilling to accomodate; that they are required to do so. She wouldn't budge and got irritated at me. She went to make some calls, we finally got sitting in the restaurant. • Service is quite mediocre at best. • The order was incomplete and wrong, by kitchen I was told. • Food is quite mediocre at best, for the price they charge. I'll...

The chips were not salted and the table salsa was watery and flavorless. The beers we ordered were flat and slightly above room temperature (Pacific and Dos Equis lager on draft). We ordered the fish tacos, tortilla soup, and the shrimp rancheros dinner (I don't think I got that right but you get the idea). The tortilla soup was not warm, had no flavor, and was comprised mostly of tortilla strips and a bland broth (but at $10 is about double the price of a far superior El Pollo loco tortilla soup). The fish tacos were obviously microwaved, the breading and the fish was mushy and chewy, and again had very little flavor and no seasoning (just a pile of dry slaw and pico on top). The shrimp and french fries were equally as bad in the same ways. Neither of the dishes were served hot. Unfortunately, the service was as bad as the food. Our server was not friendly and didn't seem to express much enthusiasm. Our plates were removed, our beer glasses were empty, but we still waited almost a half hour for the bill. The waiter didn't seem to be particularly interested in us. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience and probably one of the worst dining experiences I've had in several years. I cannot fathom how this restaurant has the rating it does and will never come back. My advice: if you're on the fence and not sure, heed my warning and save your money. The overall sense I got from watching the staff was that...

Lazy cooks and greedy waitresses. I put in an order and the waitress comes back and rudely tells me the cooks refuses to make it because the dish was too complicated and they were really busy (place was dead). The only reason I came here was for this dish, so the people I was dining with changed their orders to to-go since they knew I’d rather get a pickup order from somewhere else. They hadn’t brought chips and salsa yet so we asked if we could get them to-go and the waitress very snidely told us that it would be $4. They don’t charge you when you dine-in and they bring you tons of refills of it, but you have to pay $4 for a tiny bag of chips and tiny container of salsa. She had the nerve to add it on the bill and I told her to take it off because we never said Yes to it. They were already in their way with my order as we were paying and surprise, there was no chips and salsa in the bag. I went to Mariscos Chihuahua where the kind staff and competent chefs were happy to make my Chicharrones de Pescado. The owners are supposedly related but I guess these guys chose not to inherit customer service skills. They should close their doors if they hate customers this much. I’ve spent thousands (yes, really) here since they opened and I’ve always ordered this same dish. I will never return unless the owners reply to this review or call me with a formal and...
