My husband and I went to Denny's at 6484 East Broadway boulevard Tucson Arizona 85710 around 2:10 a.m. on Saturday August 26th well as we walked in the waiter and he came back in about 5 minutes and ask us what we would like to drink we said water so that took him 10 minutes to bring us water mind you there was only about four people in the restaurant we told him to give us a few minutes to get our order cuz we had to have time to look at the menu so about 20 minutes past we never came back so I had to go by the register and the waiter said I got you guys I said okay thank you so another 10 minutes went by and he finally came to our table took our order so my husband ordered the bacon sampler which is $16.39 and I got the chicken fried steak with eggs which is $16.29 and it took like 25 minutes to bring us our food there were people (homeless) in the restaurant they were sitting by the bathroom making weird noises mind you this place was so filthy the floors were nasty they were like never swept they had dirt,food,and the paper from straws on the floor and it smelled so much like a (old person's care home room) it smelled so bad in this place and these homeless people were smoking marijuana in the restaurant and mind you we finally got our order in about 15 minutes and the waiters name was Aurelius R (that is what the name was on our receipt) we paid $35.52 plus tip so it was $41.91 and then my husband gave him more of a tip (cash) so we spent $50.00 total and as we walked out there was four homeless guys outside and there is benches on the right and the left side and there was two homeless guys on the right side sitting on the and then there was two other homeless guys sitting on the left side on that bench and they were smoking marijuana and they blew it in our faces as we walked out the door and mind you my husband and I are elderly I'm in my 50's he's in his in his 60's and we both were very disappointed very very very disappointed and we want our money back the whole $50.00 back that we spent we will never be coming back to this Denny's ever again. We didn't even finish our food we ordered I didn't even take pictures of it cuz it all was nasty and it was cold and the guy even told my husband sorry we're out of certain bacon we still got charged the full price for the bacon sampler. So again what I'm saying we will never come back to this Denny's ever again and I think our waiter and the other employees where smoking the marijuana also cuz our food was cold. So I'd like to get a a response on this I'm not going to leave you my phone number or any of that but you would leave early response on this and give me our money back. Read moreI'm not a picky person. I also feel that I'm fairly laid back. That being said, I thought we'd give Denny's a go and see how much they have improved since previous past experiences had left much to be desired. This trip. Well it started off disappointing. We sat there for over 5 minutes waiting for our drink orders to be taken. Tho one good thing is we we're ready to order as soon as our drink orders were taken. Our waiter was a nice guy who was very attentive...at first. I only got one cup of coffee. No refills because I wasn't asked. I finally did ask at the end of my meal tho because, hello, I need coffee! Anywho, when I did order my coffee I also asked for french vanilla creamer and was brought a couple french vanilla (3) a few half and halfs (2) and I think a hazelnut or two. Now, I use four french vanillas in my coffee. Don't judge. I like it that way! Anywho, I had to ask again for french vanilla creamer and it was brought to me in a timely manner but with a hint of passive aggressive behavior. I didn't care tho because, again, coffee. I should also mention that the waiter seemed to be in a rush because before I could ask for two extra prices of bacon instead of the sausages for my super duper slam that I got he asked my husband what he would like and then dashed off real quick. So I sucked it up and ate the sausage. If I happened to look longingly at my husband's bacon while eating the sausage then so what? Then before I could get my second cup of coffee the waiter brought our check and hustled off. I think they may have been short staffed. And if Denny's is reading this, you may wanna rethink under hiring to save money because wait staff can only work so many tables. Read moreLet me explain. We came in and waited a few for a table which wasnt bad the server was tied up with a few door dash orders going out. We sat about 12:10 and ordered and Joanna put in our order about 12:20am. Within a short time 4 more tables came in, one of which got up and left after apparently not getting any service. Since the Manager was the only one running things after she told the server to go on break ( Joanna confirmed her order and questioned all the table that just came in, she was told to go on break) at 1230am she went on break. I watched our food at 1245 sit in the window for awhile. The manager walked by it a few times. At 1252 Joanna returned and asked to clock back in early to serve the tables. While the manager was woried about a lid for a salad i continued to watch our food in the window. The cook MamaD ended up putting our food on a tray and bring it out to our table to serve us, which was greatly appreciated. Joanna immediatly checked on all the tables, refilled my drink and took orders from the tables that were sat just before she was ordered to take break? The service provided by Joanna and MamaD was excellent. Both were apologetic about the delays. The Manager, Lorri in that entire time never checked on us, refilled a drink, or even apologized for the delays and letting the food just sit in the window getting cold. Ive been to this dennys many times and the service is always pretty good. But if your manager cant handle customer service on 5 tables over a 30 min window and loses a table from neglect, then something should be done or retrained because they cant handle the night shift. When we left we tipped our Server Joanna on the full amount and added some to tip MamaD as well for her customer service. They i believe went above and beyond trying to provide good customer service, Lorri on the other hand is way behind the curve and needs...
