Cranberry Splash = NASTY!
If you have not tried this flavor.....take a hard pass and consider yourself lucky.
I do not know what they used in this "special" flavor, nor do I really want to based on the taste and smell. At first sip it tasted like a plastic water bottle that had spent several years in the car during our AZ summers. It was disgusting and the smell was even worse. It smelled of old cooked plastic and something rotting. I have never experienced anything like it. If it hadn't been that we went through the drive thru and were on our way home.....I would have taken it back and asked for something different. The lesson I learned is do not try new flavors via the drive thru,9 (the main eat in area had closed, thus only the drive thru was open).
I grew up loving Eegees and up until a few months ago was proud that we had a great business, that put out quality menu items. I know things change, and there is always a reason behind the change(s). However, Eegees has changed quite a bit in the last few months; it started with the regular menu items tasting different. Then last month the company did a revamp of the menu (sandwiches, you can no longer order special flavors in party packs and they cut out a lot of smaller food items). I miss being able to get a pretzel with a great tasting Eegee.
I hope that in the future the quality I knew for 40+ years, returns. I also hope that a better taste tester(s) are found..... The flavor the month quality is slipping and whoever gets to decide and then make the flavors needs to be replaced....October 2022 flavor of the month and then this special Cranberry Splash.....both tasted like you had products that were expiring and you needed to use them.....so you dumped whatever together. The November 2022 flavor of the month, is no longer as appetizing as it used to be. It will be a while before I return to Eegees....the Cranberry Splash was a deal breaker; especially when the taste and smell made everyone in the car who ordered that flavor...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI think there's something magic about the hallmark product at Eegee's, the Eegee, and I don't know exactly what it is.
Is it that it doesn't matter if it's been one minute or an hour, it stays the same consistency? Maybe. It's a frozen beverage, and my expectations are usually that it will be melted at some point during my stay there. I guess it could be down to the cold-blasting air conditioner that makes its stay in a place like this. But I've had these outside, too, and they simply don't melt as quickly as I'd expect.
I had the monthly Eegee flavor, apple cider, and while it was good, I think I would rather have gone with a classic, like a half-lemon, half-strawberry option. (Honestly, my favorite has been root beer, which was also a short-lived flavor. I want it again. So much.)
I also ate some fries while I was there. Garlic and parmesan. Very buttery. Very unhealthy....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a regular customer for over 25 years. Had a horrible experience yesterday with the drive thru line. Took over 25 minutes to get to the cashier window. People in front of me were driving off. I would have, if I could have driven off. Finally when I got to the cashier, I asked if they were short staffed and he said yes. I am normally a very patient person so I can understand the difficulties.. So I paid and offered to pull up so they could bring the food out when ready. Saw the person that was behind me in the drive through get her order. I parked my car to go inside what was happening. Manager came out and very, very curtly told me I shouldn't have pulled up to wait for my food as they no longer do that. She blamed the young man who took my order You lost a customer. To see that manager belittling the cashier who was trying to accommodate a customer was...
