My Basketball Haven and Beloved Happy Place!
The McKale Center, home to the Arizona Wildcats, holds a special place in my heart. Since I could barely walk, this stadium has been my sanctuary, my absolute favorite place in the world. The McKale Center never fails to disappoint, well, unless the Wildcats lose the game (but let's not dwell on those rare moments).
Attending games at the McKale Center is an experience like no other. It holds the memories of my childhood, my grandparents, and their undying love for each other. They had their seats here when they were newlyweds, and their spirit lives on in every game I attend. It's a testament to the timeless love and connection that basketball can foster.
The program hosted at the McKale Center is not just a game; it's an integral part of our city's identity. The electric atmosphere, the cheers, and the camaraderie among fans create an amazing sense of community. The dedication and talent of the Arizona Wildcats is awe-inspiring, and it brings people together, uniting us under a common passion.
As I reflect on the significance of the McKale Center in my life, I can't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude. This place has given me countless moments of joy and excitement. It has been my sanctuary, my source of inspiration, and my escape from the world. When my time comes, I've even made the decision to have my ashes spread here, ensuring that my love for this place lives on even after I'm gone.
Additionally, the McKale Center holds the legacy of Lute Olson, the legendary coach who led the Wildcats to greatness. His impact on the program and the community is immeasurable, and his spirit lives on within these walls.
Looking towards the future, I am excited to see the continued success of the Wildcats under the leadership of Tommy Lloyd. In just a few short years, Coach Lloyd has already made a significant impact, bringing a fresh perspective and a renewed energy to the team. The McKale Center is set to witness even more memorable moments and achievements as the Wildcats continue their journey under his guidance. The legacy of Lute Olson and the bright future with Coach Tommy Lloyd make the McKale Center an extraordinary place to be.
In conclusion, the McKale Center is more than just a basketball stadium—it's a haven, a symbol of cherished memories, and a vibrant part of our city's fabric. Its role in shaping my life is immeasurable, and I will forever be grateful for the happiness it has brought me. Read moreSecond time attending a game at McKale, and was just as impressed as the first time! We were in the nosebleeds (115B) but had a great lateral view of the court. When we walked around the stadium it didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house. The interior concourse is way too small for an arena this size, so it's smart that they opened up the outside for restroom and general foot traffic. Lots of cool fan amenities, like the dog performance halftime show, jimmy johns giveaway, and video boards. Had a professional-sport vibe to it, but that could be because a lot of college students were still on break.
The souvenir cup was a little disappointing, but a lot of Arizona merchandise was overpriced so that $7 must've warranted a lower quality. Pick up and drop off was very easy, I wasn't used to that at my University games! Overall I'd recommend for any college basketball fan, McKale is a great facility for the rising mens (and now womens!) basketball...
Read moreOur other son currently attends an SEC school and I thought his basketball arena experience was beyond compare. Man was I wrong. McKale is a College Basketball Mecca. A true bucket list destination and experience with comfortable seats, great friendly fans, and not a bad seat in the house. Concessions were even great for a college arena. Made me wish I had gone sooner, when our son was attending UofA. A game in McKale is perhaps the absolute best thing Tucson has to offer! Especially as the University is $177m in the hole, I'm shocked it does not rent out this 15,000 seat arena to host concerts, or give free locker room/arena tours with paid add-ons, which would certainly bring more people to Tucson for longer and spend more money. This is a can't miss destination, and hey the best part.... you dont have to listen to Bill Walton announce...
