I have always loved Frost Gelato, but tonight there was truly something wrong with the gelato. I ordered my usual Gianduia-Chocolate with Hazelnut & it has never tasted like this before. My husband ordered a peanut butter and that was also not same flavor as before ( it had too much creme and not much peanut butter flavor, almost tasting like milk. My gelato tasted tart and something was off about it. I had my husband taste my gelato as well as I tasted his and we both agreed there is something not right tonight. So I went inside to tell the very young person behind the counter about how it tasted tart and not fresh. He turned and said to me, " well, we haven't changed the tray yet" Then he tells me that different Frost's locations sometimes have different colors/tastes and depends on "chef" who makes it & that it could taste different. I never heard anything like this before. This young "boy" offered me another one, but after his explanation I told him no longer interested and that I was throwing my gelato away in the garbage-and did so in front of him. He never said I will refund you. He just watched me toss an entire cup away as did my husband. I did not care about the money but the fact he made excuses for something that was not right-is just wrong. This is what happens to any good place turns into a Franchise. Any Pastry Chef will tell you making Deserts are like a science. Each measurement must be done right or it will never turn out the same. There must be a recipe they have to follow as well. Sorry Frost, I have supported you since you opened in Tucson but now, I will not eat Gelato in Tucson. I love gelato and fortunately I do travel, so I will have to wait to have my gelato when I...
Read moreWhen we went there, (and we haven't been back since), the young people working there AND the manager were pre occupied with their friends that were there and made us feel like we were interrupting there good time. ALSO, one of them had stacked a bunch of the paper or plastic bowls used to serve the Gelato in outside next to the back door ON THE DIRT! The package was open and the paper products were blown all over the back parking lot and into the side street. Ok, these things happen. However, when I let the manager know she wasn't worried....at all. We left with our Gelato and did a bunch of running around. Came back just a little over two hours later. Paper products were STILL ALL OVER the back parking lot and even more in the side street by now. She just didn't care. Only important thing for her was to sit and chat with her friends. I'm hoping, by now, they have a new manager who really cares about their business and their patrons because it really turned us off and won't go back and NEVER will we refer them to our family, friends, out of town guests, etc. The owners need to keep a closer eye on their employees says one business...
Read moreOn 8 April, my wife and I went there on our anniversary as usual. With a 10% tip, it was $17.34 for 2 Gelato Grandes. We were not just surprised to see that the price had gone up considerably nor that they didn't offer a cookie anymore. We were surprised that the lids did not fit correctly and we were really surprised when my wife's gelato had a huge air pocket in it, instead of expensive gelato. We were a bit disappointed in the entire experience. We reached out to Frost gelato to let them know we were a little disappointed. They responded with this message: "We apologize for the poor experience. Which location did you visit? We would like to provide you with a gift card for your next visit." I responded thank you very much and gave them my address. Our next visit with our granddaughter has come and gone and we have not heard from them. A gift card was not requested nor expected. But if you offer something as a business, you should stand by it. We were not satisfied with a less than filled container for that price, the quality of their containers and particularly with...
