I made a mobile order and the usual: pull up to the order box, tell them my name, they confirm, go up to the window. Right? Well, I get to the window and she (girl with glasses) starts to read off my order and at first it, sounded like it was right ... i didn't catch the egg rolls until i reprocessed what she said and the three piece part wasn't fitting into the puzzle... and then when she gave me a total, definitely wasn't mine either (prepay with mobile order).
She was expecting for me to say yes (i didn't). Things happen all the time with the people ordering on location and also away... no big deal... she asks my name and then had walked away to i guess find my order in the queue but she did this (coming to the window and asking my name) like 4 times.
I finally showed her my email confirmation and that I definitely was not at the wrong store as she had suggested that I was (location matched me to that spot since I wasn't far away). She continued to stare at my phone trying to read it seemed my notifications too, for as long as I held my arm up for her to see my hone screen... I think she then realized that she should have quickly only counted the items that were confirmed within that order then go on about her job being that the car behind me, already had his order at the window before I even had pulled up to the window so getting that food out while it was still hot should have been a priority...
All of a sudden, she says, "[oh] there it is it just popped up..." bagged my order and handed it to me... to make her way to the next.
This poor girl looked like a chicken with her head chopped off! Granted, she may have been fairly new at this job being that she still was not able to take and memorize orders while she was bagging and absolutely needed to be at the register while the person was ordering - but she definitely should not be left out on the front lines like that; Not yet anyway. I should not have had to wait that long in line for simple items and I definitely should not have had a sandwich more crunchy that my tacos! But i will say that she handled the stress WELL for as young as she is and not take out any of it on me.
she could possibly ask (next time) to see the confirmation on the order check out the date and time proceed if it's within an ordering time-frame, then check the items so that they could be made as the system eventually catches up to current time to not only ensure that the total time isn't ridiculous as it was tonight but stays within a customer service standards that avoids making the customer feel potentially at the wrong address.
A star for the whoever placed this girl (i didn't get a receipt other wise i would name her) to be by herself. Another for the that kinda stale stage right before the sogginess...

It doesn't say I have to add up orders, it says in my receipt that ALL i have to do is type in the numbers from THIS receipt in the next 72 hours and I'll habe earned FREE FOOD From THIS ORDER. Well I go to the JACK IN THE BOX WEBSITE Like it says to, and NOPE!! That thing happened, if it's too good to be true, yeah that. I had to type in my receipt number and THAT didnt even work!! An ERROR Popped up!!🤦♀️🤦♀ But that's not all, once you add up enough "points" from multiple orders THEN And ONLY then do you get your FREE FOOD. So fix the receipts. Because it's a STRAIGHT UP LIE. And I'm honestly pissed. The ONLY reason I'm NOT taking off more stars is because I don't want it to reflect badly on the store for something that corporate stupidly did.END UPDATE I Love this Jack in the Box! Read moreUpdate 8/26/23.... again, tried to go through drive thru since my original post. ( for the first time since might I add) and again. I was told mobile only!!! This is ridiculous... so of course. I sat in the parking lot and created an account. I shouldnt have to go that far. I ordered my food, and the lazy person tonight still had to make it. Weather I placed my order in drive thru or if I had to park and order my food thru the app. This is ridiculous.
Just attempted to go to the drive thru at 11pm Saturday Night 4/02/22. Was told that unless I had an Uber order or Door Dash Order that I basically couldn't be helped. Ended up going to Taco Bell instead where I was told that they have had a few customers say the same thing to them about Jack in the not taking drive thru orders. Obviously not at 24 hr location if that's how they do it. And not only that but I live a block up the road. You really expect me to order my food online and pay the extra service cost. When I clearly don't mind coming to the drive thru. I'd have to come to the drive thru to pick up my orders anyways. I used to work fast food closing. And clearly the issue here is that drive thru and Delivery apps BOTH get busy. So to make it easier on themselves they either choose to shut down the app. Or shut down drive up orders in the drive thru. Clearly which ever one they feel...
