I was very very disappointed when I went there for lunch yesterday they gave us our menus and they asked us if we wanted to order off their alcohol menu and we said yes when we ordered the Margaritas they said there was two for the price of one. So me and my husband got very excited and said sure. They fell to let you know that there's a small or large size Margaritas and so they automatically pick the large for you. The large margarita cost $18 and then they charge you another dollar if it's jalapeno or mango etc. Okay and this is where I don't understand why do they charge an extra dollar 4 the flavored margaritas I mean come on now if you're going to charge for margarita charge the price that it is, don't add another extra dollar to it. anyway to make a long story short our food didn't even cost as much as our drinks cost and when I brought this to the manager's attention they said that's how much are drinks cost. I was upset and I thought this is not even a high-end restaurant, I would call it more like a hole in the wall so for me to have to pay that much for water down drinks was very upsetting. So people beware when ordering drinks from Botanas and you like water down drinks then maybe it's a good idea that you order a large for $18 plus a dollar but if you don't like water down drinks and you're going to have a drink there just order a small margarita they cost $8 plus a dollar. I've been to lots of restaurants that are beautiful high-end Mexican restaurants and never had to pay that much for a margarita. Seems like Botanas is desperate 4 cash and you would think if they're getting $18 for a Margarita plus a dollar that they would at least remodel that ugly stinking place....
Read moreWe came to visit Arizona and the first restaurant we tried was Las Botanas, and it was the best choice because we got amazing service and delicious food.
First the restaurant is in a nice location and with plenty of free parking.
As we walked in Leyda was so welcoming and offered us our seats as well as an amazing service on our entire visit.
The restaurant has nice and has colorful welcoming decor and it also includes different spots to take pictures for your memories.
When it comes to food, it was excellent, we tried different things. The chips come with different salsa to try. And they are from mild to spicy, green as well as red.
The guacamole was fresh and it was gone fast because it was well made.
The calabacitas or zucchini was also great, for those veggie days, this is one of the dishes to order.
The toritos gueritos are full of happy flavor and of you like bacon you'll love them too.
Then for the main dish we got The San Carlos sea of Cortez, it was plenty for our small group, it comes with fish as well as shrimp and that's just the beginning, just try it.
When it comes to drinks, all were not just huge but full of flavor and strong.
The margaritas are huge yet i finished one myself because it was made with attention. The Micheladas are a must try too.
I really like that they offer, mezcal as well as tequila, vodka and much more, there is something for everyone.
As for dessert, the churros were crispy on the outside and soft inside and that's the way they should be.
Overall this is a restaurant to stop by and try, you'll be glad you stopped by. And we will definitely well come back...
Read moreI won't go back. I never do business with any company that doesn't advertise that they charge a fee if you use a credit/debit card; especially when they don't advertised that they charge BEFORE you eat the food. Hidden charges are unethical. Ate there on 10/25/24. The rice was clumpy & Dr. Pepper tasted off; (maybe machine needed to be cleaned??). I asked for something that they (Mario?) never brought to me. Orlando took the order but wasn't around until after I paid (after another guy came to my table to bill me & get my money). As he got my card in his hand & ready to put it in the machine, he THEN tells me they charge a fee for using a card. I told him I don't usually carry cash (or only limited cash), so I am forced to pay the fee because I already ate the food & I didn't appreciate not knowing the charge before I ate the food (or I wouldn't have eaten there). I asked for the manager & he said he is the assistant & the manager doesn't come in until later. (I guess name tags are no longer fashionable because then people know who to blame when there is bad service anywhere.) I guess his name is Mario because when I later called the manager, Leyda, on the phone, I told her the guy said he was the assistant manager when I asked for the manager & I asked her his name. I told her I ate there earlier that day & needed to discuss something with her and she said she would find my receipt and call me back shortly. I didn't get to discuss anything with her! It's been over 3 weeks and she NEVER...
