This place is definitely all hype, I love Japanese food and desserts but my trip was more than disappointing. I've already come with my girlfriend on two seperate occasions. The 1st time we went in a couple hours before they close, none of the tables were picked up and all the tables that weren't occupied by customers had garbage on them (6 seperate tables). When you have to clear/throw away someone else's garbage just to sit is ridiculous. Just from watching the video on Facebook I was excited to order an egg puff dessert, but when I got it, everything fell apart and I couldn't fold it like how it was shown in the video. I also wanted to try the Rain drop cake, crepes, and macha layer cake but they were sold out and said come early the next day which I understand since they were going to close in a couple hours.
My second visit the following day, my girlfriend and I tried to order what we missed out on the previous visit. They were once again sold out and said that they didn't have anyone to make it. So we both just ordered a drink, I got the butterfly pea tea that was shown in the Facebook video to change colors, I got my drink and poured in what they gave me and it stayed the same color. The only saving grace was how nice the staff was otherwise I don't see the point in coming again, especially because it was an hour drive from where I live. I'm very dissapointed, I really wanted to...
Read moreSo... that color-changing Butterfly Pea Tea? There was no color changing and the matcha milli cake was sold out. On top of that, while the storefront looks cute and new, the bathrooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in WEEKS—and neither of the bathroom door locks were functioning. When you’ve got rings around your toilet bowls that look like someone was dumping Orange Crush in for cleaning, greasy fingerprints all over the doors, and mirrors that looked like they were washed with dirty rags? Clearly more than one staff member has been reluctant to take responsibility for bathroom duty.
On top of all that, there’s a lovely fish stick smell to a place I thought was exclusively a dessert spot. That would be the Korean fish balls on the menu. Took more than 10-15 minutes for the strawberry and mango egg waffles to hit the table when there were zero other orders being placed (and the joint was DEAD). I was so excited for this place but I won’t be returning. Talk about being all hype. Save your money for a different trendy pop-up in Tucson... I don’t think this...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to try out this little dessert restaurant after seeing a video for it on Facebook. I love Asian style desserts so I was pumped. However, to our disappointment they were sold out of almost everything we wanted to try. When we did finally find something we wanted and was in stock we wound up waiting 45 minutes just to get our drinks. Took at least another 20 minutes to get our food and it didn’t even come out at the same time. I had mine a good 10 minutes before he received his. Which makes sense considering they had only one person working both in the front and in the back to make the orders. But still over an hour wait for a crepe and an egg waffle is extremely excessive. They need to consider putting staff in the front and in back if the food is that time consuming to make. The only saving grace was that the food and drinks were delicious and that I could tell the staff were trying their absolute hardest to get...
