This morning (12-4-23), after a nice early morning bike ride, I set my hammock up at the wonderful Rillito Park to enjoy an audiobook and witness the sunrise. About an hour after I had set it up, a Park employee by the name of Ed (he lied to me when I asked his name, he said his name was Tony but another Park & Rec employee told me his name was Ed) driving one of the city park gators, came up to me and pulled his knife out and began to cut my hammock down. He told me hammocks were not allowed (completely untrue) and threatened to not only damage my property but also injure me as he was threatening to do this with me in the hammock. He did actually cut my strap (photo attached). This man is a clear threat to the public and needs to be held accountable for the damage he caused. I have sent an email in regards to this matter in which I left my email, my personal as well as business phone numbers and NEED someone to please follow up with me on this clear public safety threat as well as potential liability/restitution. Thank you.

Rillito regional park. This park is a soccer placers dream. Has multiple different soccer fields. Super well Maintained and cleaned. Since soccer leagues use this park it is always packed!! With practices or games. Park has several Ramada’s and pick-nick benches. Play ground is beautiful and well kept and away from the road. Children would have to run through a large Parking lot before entering a road. For a momma of multiples that’s always appreciated. Has bathrooms, women’s don’t have lights at night I don’t understand why but the men’s do, and their individual stalls sooooo. Ya know. Overall one of the best parks Tucson has to offer.

My son and I really enjoy his park. Note that on the weekends the soccer fields are often filled with local teams. Otherwise, you can usually play soccer and the goals appear to be left up year-round. There is a nice, mostly-shaded playground.

In Sunday near the horse track there is an excellent farmer's market with great food. I particularly recommend the Salvadoran pupusas.

The park is also near the Rillito river walk, which is a great spot for walking,...
