I had red chile chicken enchiladas and double beans, no rice per my request. The waitress was very nice and friendly and very accomodating.
The enchiladas were good, but the refried beans were very bland, they lacked oil, no flavor . They didn't have much taste. They had 4 small pieces of white cheese on top of the serving of beans. What I don't get is why their prices are high but the quality of food is not! They charged $14.99 for the plate plus $2.99 for fresh lemonade, plus tax..$19.53. After the tip...my total was $23.53
I will not be going back to Jalisco.
I very often go to a different restaurant but they are closed on Tuesdays! I can order the exact same thing chicken enchiladas and refried beans and know that everything, including the beans are very tasty and delicious and authentic. For lunch it also includes your drink for free. I pay $13.65, that includes tax, plus I pay an additional 20-25% or more tip!
I also regularly go to a Mexican seafood (Mariscos) restaurant. They have a great menu and very tasty food, high quality! I usually get camarones rellenos, side salad, and white rice...or camaron al mojo de ajo with a side salad, and white rice for $25.45 total.
I will not...
Read moreWent in for the red menudo. What I liked- served really hot, menudo was clean, great balance of hominy and tripe. Served with all the extras including limes, onions, cilantro, oregano, ground red chile flakes. We got the toasted bollio bread. Bread was on point fresh and hot. Taste- my personal preference is more red chile. Couldve used more red chile. I added salt to taste and all the sides to make my menudo how I liked it. What we tried besides the Menudo- Chile Relleno plate. Wow!! Tasty chiles, filled with cheese and fried just right. Served with Rice, beans and flour tortillas. Rice was moist and fluffy perfectly seasoned, beans looked average but were on point and very tasty.. homemade flour tortillas.. This meal was the surprise of our morning. Be sure to get there early. We went in on Saturday morning just before 8am. Not many people but was full by the...
Read moreThis is a small restaurant well out of the "touristy" areas. There is nothing fancy about it. There are two things that rate it five stars, the food and the service. The menu is varied, but not extensive. We have sampled a number of different dishes and found each to be excellent. The heuvos rancheros are by far the best in Tucson. The red passole (soup) is delicious, but only order a large portion if you are very hungry. Another positive is that we have a Hispanic friend, who is herself a restaurant chef, that highly recommends Jalisco. Yvette and Josie provide excellent service. Do not plan to go for dinner as Jalisco serves only breakfast and lunch, closing at 3 PM. The restaurant is closed...
