I WAS AGGRESSIVELY PANHANDLED BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE WHO FAILED TO RESPECT PERSONAL SPACE or SOCIAL DISTANCING WITHIN SECONDS OF ARRIVING AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I was still within reach of my vehicle when it started. Perhaps some desperately needed security or better exterior lighting might allow for reclaiming business property for paying patrons use. Anything but staff indifference might have helped this deliema as the north side of the parking lot was jammed packed with homeless vagrants upon my arrival. I would have preferred that Lucky Wishbone would have either raised their prices or cut thier portions size, sadly over time they have apparently aggressively done both. I love the fried shrimp and fried gizzards, it's literally the only reason l come here. Outside of the unlimited homeless people occupying the north parking lot. The grounds and the building exterior appeared clean. Tragically the iconic Lucky Wishbone neon sign from the past wasn't working. The interior was warm and inviting and well lite. From opening day this locations furniture more closely resembles plastic patio pool furniture. While expensive, I felt the food was hot, fresh and made to order. The food wasn't prohibitively priced. Based on my negative encounter with the aggressive panhandlers, this is not a location that I would want to return to again. While l was never in any real danger, l felt unsafe, it's a unnerving feeling best avoid and is easily solved by simply...
Read moreFood/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - absolutely delicious food for the mains but the sides were not that impressive POP (8 piece) Gizzard with Onion Rings, Garlic Toast, and 2 sauces. The gizzards were fried well but didn’t have much flavor other than the batter. The onion rings were nicely fried but not much flavor either so needed ketchup or sauce to help it along. The garlic toast was very oily/greasy especially as you get closer to the center. The lucky wishbone sauce tasted of cocktail sauce with some more horseradish
7 piece Dark Special with a mix of legs and thighs. The fry on these chicken was amazing with such a crunch on the outside but the inside was deliciously moist. The batter is on the saltier side but still so good
Ambience: 4/5 - older restaurant that smelled slightly of disinfectant and not at all of the food. Pictures that showed its history and lots of sport posters. The windows are slight scratched and some tiles had holes. The tables and chairs were clean but it felt a bit dusty overall
Service: 5/5 - friendly but couldn’t give much details or recommendations for the menu. About 15 minute wait for our food
Value for price: 5/5 - delicious food overall but the pricing is a bit odd… for example, it would have been cheaper to get a Jr Gizzard with 4 a la carte pieces (7 + 3.8 = 10.8) rather than the POP...
Read moreWell I drive by Lucky wishbone nearly every day and have always wondered about trying it out, one day I decided to go for it and this is my opinion. first of all what I ordered was the sampler box it was way way way overpriced for what it was. It consisted of two small-sized chicken tenders, three breaded shrimp, two steak fingers, and some french fries that left a lot to be desired. it had a side of the Lucky wishbone sauce which was very similar to a cocktail sauce that you would use when you're eating peel and eat shrimp. This cost me $11 for this small amount of fried garbage. The quality of all of the food was not something I would ever pay $11 for again, especially when I can drive a few blocks and get a full meal at raising Cane's with six huge delicious breaded chicken fingers, french fries that are actually good, a piece of Texas toast, a side of coleslaw oh, and a delicious side of cane sauce which is absolutely incomparable to the Lucky wishbone watered down ketchup sauce that came with my overpriced sampler. As soon as I put the order down that I received I was already feeling some kind of way about the food I had ordered. Facility did appear to be somewhat clean and the staff was about average. in my opinion you're definitely not missing anything if you skip over Lucky Wishbone for today's...
