I attended this church between 2011-2015. I say this not in a spirit of revenge or bitterness but to speak truth towards false teachers and prophets. It is not lost on me that many leaders in the global church believe that in order to achieve reconciliation, a person must come with their apology alone and not air any of their own grievances towards the other person, otherwise they would be "manipulative and unrepentant".
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It is not only emotionally immature to assert that kind of one sided "peace making" conflict resolution, it's just not simply found in the word of God. Sound doctrine is hard, isn't it? It is this kind of narrative around reconciliation that allows mistreatment to run rampant within the church. People are not heard or seen and brokenness prevails. Perfection is expected or reconciliation never happens.
It's interesting that in July of this year, my current church had so many Second Milers present on my behalf that Sunday morning as if they need me to speak up about something. Isn't that funny?
