Very disappointed in what THF has become. Went there this morning for a much anticipated Sunday breakfast. We were seated and it took the waitress a good 10 minutes to come get our drink order. Another 15 minute wait to place our order because she was busy telling the table next to ours about her math tutoring. She made a big deal about making sure our egg order was correct...we felt hopeful. I had ordered the mini skillet, which in past visits was a small skillet completely full of the hashbrowns, nice chunks of ham, onions, cheese, and a double yolk egg that they are known for. This time, the mini skillet was half full of the ingredients, barely a cup full total. The dice on the tablespoonful of ham was so fine it wouldn't stay on the fork. The egg at first glance was very obviously overcooked, and did not have the double yolk they advertise...Something our waitress didn't seem to recognize. When you've ordered an over medium cooked egg, and what you get is brown crispy edged whites, you just know that the yolk is hard cooked. Took her another 15 minutes to come back to check if everything was okay before I could send it back. It wasn't just my order that was messed up. My husband's was overcooked as well, the yolk on his egg was so over cooked that it looked hardboiled. To top it all off, most of the meal was eaten without a refill on our coffees. All I can say is, "HF you've had a good run, but we won't...

My mom and I have visited a few times now but this last visit was the last visit ever again. Here's why: I have ordered the same thing every time. Chicken Fried Steak a la carte with extra gravy. I brought my husband one home last time and he wouldn't eat it. Now I understand why. The first two visits were okay, Slothly slow service, but the food was better. This time 4 whammies in one sitting Still slow as heck Fly in the strawberry salad my mom ordered, I saw it but she didn't do I stopped her. And was somehow able to flag a different person to attend to her salad. We waited over 10 minutes for her replacement to come out, and when our server volunteered it would be out soon, my mom opted to take it to go, as I was done eating what I was even willing to at that point. My chicken fried steak was rubbery meat, really sick consistency. It was gross. They preloaded a tip of 18% (for two people not six or more)

It wasn't 18% worth with their lack of attention, inedible food, and the fact that they added a tip.

PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A FAIR WAGE.

ALSO, nowhere was it obvious that they were in the habit of preloading tips. So my mom who doesn't see well gave additional tips when they were absolutely not...

This Sunday morning, we ate at The Hungry Fox. The food was fine, our waitress was good. The thing I was very upset about was the following; The room was crowded and we were seated along the outside wall. I wanted to use the restroom which I saw was at the other corner. I was looking for a way to get over there as I did not want to ask the patrons to move their chairs for me and I could see that the Kitchen serving area was probably not supposed to be used, so I saw a small serving area in the middle of the room that I could cross to get over toward the aisle that led to the restroom. I immediately got barked at by the women in charge saying patrons were not allowed to go thru that area. I asked how do I get to the restroom. She said I had to walk all the way around the perimeter of the room to get to the restroom. Thinking back on this, I feel there should be a more convenient way for a patron to access the restroom and also the women in charge was too curt for my taste. Being barked at for just wanting to use the restroom is something I do not look forward to so I have decided there are plenty of other places to have breakfast here in Tucson that do not come with a side order...

Good breakfast spot. Plan for a leisure breakfast when you have lots of time on your hands. The staff is friendly but it's busy so you won't see them much. From the time we were seated till our order arrived was 45 minutes and that was just fine with us ... but it's good to know ahead if time. We share a HUGE Cinnamon roll before our food was served and it was delicious. The coffee was good. The Lemonade was maybe countrytime or something similar. Our waitress did get our order wrong but fixed it right away. My breakfast was very good but now wow. My partner rated his as ok. The decor is country theme with a good smattering of religious propaganda lol not my thing but probably enticing to others. Parking was plenty. The restroom could use a cleaning. Overall it was a fun experience but not so enthused with the food overall so unlikely I will be back unless I'm invby someone who wants to go

I came in 30 minutes before they closed and they happily sat me down in a booth. They didn't rush me even though they were going to close soon. I ordered a Hungry Fox omelette, crispy hash browns, with rye bread and coffee. While I waited for my food and sipped on my coffee, I enjoyed looking at the decorations all over the walls that give this old time restaurant style and personality. My food came out looking scrumptious. The omelette was really outstanding, the hash browns well done crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, and the rye bread nicely toasted and buttered. I asked for a side of sour cream as well. The waitress was very prompt with my order and refilling my coffee again and again. Even though it was past closing time and I was taking my time to enjoy each bite of food, and they told me no rush. I'll definitely be back with my wife & kids. Highly recommend!

This place is easily becoming my favorite breakfast spot in town. The atmosphere and service alone make stopping by worth your time. Food is here hits the home style comfort food vibe it gives and brings a price point that still allows a family of 5 to total less than $80 before tips. But, the atmosphere is absolutely 2nd to none in todays post covid world. It has a very lively, fun atmosphere as its patrons bring about a buzz via conversation and laughter, at times the staff poking in and adding to the fun and conversation. It sounds so basic but a lively buzz is something we do not find very often anymore. The cinnamon roll is huge but light and airy, not dense at ALL. Its freaking delicious and acted as a wonderful pre-breakfast sweet our family got to enjoy before the meal arrived. Everything else after was spot on and satisfying. Can't go wrong with any order here.
