My experience with the Chicago Music Store on Speedway is a little different than most. I have not even stepped inside the building.
I have a keyboard that has been mine for +20 years and upon moving to Tucson recently the power cable became lost in the shuffle. Of course finding this unmarked cable online or getting the instrument's manufacturer to identify the needed cable (of a model they no longer make) was no simple task. I was sent the wrong cord and still have a keyboard that I cannot play.
Upon speaking with Kate at the location on Speedway, over the course of several weeks of calling one another, her speaking to multiple reps at the manufacturer, and emails between the two of us, she called me today. She phoned me during my lunch break, which showed me that me and my needs had not become some mundane task at the end of her work day. She had found the right cord and was letting me know that she would be emailing me the information and could also take care of the ordering process for me.

Read moreMany thanks to these band of miracle workers. Especially Ryan who worked on my new Martin 000-Junior which, when I brought it in was unplayable. Not only was it fixed and restrung to perfection but they only charged me for the restringing. When I got it home it sounded better than it ever had even before the problem. In essence it really does feel as if I walked out of there with a brand new Martin for only $25.. Truly amazing.

Read moreI already had a guitar in mind that I wanted and went to Guitar Center to see if they had it in stock. I sat around for about 10 minutes looking with no staff trying to assist. I waited I an unorganized mess of a li e just yo be told that they did t have any in stock and that I could possibly try another location about 40 minutes away. I decided to see what Chicago had. I was greeted and assisted right away. I was led straight away to the exact guitar model I had in mind. Although they didn't have what I wanted in yhe color I had in mind, the nice man showed me a natural oil body electric of the one I had in mind. Something I didn't even see online and I absolutely love it. Not to mention the absolute best customer service I have ever experienced. I felt at home here.
