Red Lobster Tucson
I hate to sound surprised that we enjoyed Red Lobster in Tucson on Oracle Rd as much as we did, but we don’t normally eat either at Red Lobster specifically or at similar restaurants in the Red Lobster category (to me), so we weren’t expecting it to be as great as it turned out to be!
First of all, the service was just great. And I am attentive to and critical of service when there are indeed service issues. Our server was Ashley and she did just an outstanding job. Every detail was attended to, and pleasantly and cheerfully. She was easy to work with and really added to the positive dining experiience. Let’s put it this way - we’ve had much worse service at restaurants in the fine dining category. Ashley was all over sides, menu information, drinks, checking on us, it was all just smooth and easy and pleasant.
Now, the food. It was great. I take no issue whatsoever with food quality, taste, or presentation. I had the lobster tail with 12 oz sirloin - both were great. Portion size was really excellent, too. I felt it was a great value, given how good it was. Steak was juicy and flavorful, cooked exactly to temperature requested (medium well in my case); lobster tail was easy to remove from the shell, and buttery and delicious (yes the butter sauce is a nice accompaniment, as are the light, fluffy cheddar biscuits (YUM!!)). Baked potato was even really good, with the salted exterior and all that.
And the appetizer was great, too - we had the bacon-wrapped scallops. Sizable scallops, tender and tasty, and nice smoky bacon wrapped around them. They were good!
Wine selection was good, too, value there wasn’t bad, and as I mentioned, the value overall to me was great! That’s a lot of food of high quality for a reasonable price in a nice quiet atmosphere where the service is as great as the food. How can you...
Read moreI'm awful with names but truth is the 5 star is solely to the manager and server who helped us...they made a bad situation as right as they possibly could have... I took my father here for his birthday and he never even got his meal! We were told about 10 minutes after ordering that his order would take a little long due to it not being adequately prepped for the day but I was done with my food and it still hadnt come out. We left upset and unsatisfied, especially being a birthday and a rare outing for us. I will admit in the moment I didn't have the kindest words about the situation and suggested to crack down on her prep staff but she showed great understanding for my frustrations and handled it well.when I asked what I owed for what we received I was told our bill was handled. I went back to the dining area and handed the extremely apologetic server what cash I had on me since they wouldn't be running my card and assured her this was in no way her fault but I wanted to leave a positive review despite the poor experience in hopes that others will see it and understand that these restaurants are not run by robots, mistake happen, but most of them want to do what they can to make it right and make you happy and they are just trying their best so before you leave a 1 star and hurt their business, ask yourself did you bring the situation to their attention? Did they refuse to talk out a solution? Did you get sick? Where you verbally or physically harmed? If the answer to these are "no" then they do not deserve a one star review. So even though the day was still kInd of ruined, I want to thank the staff for...
Read moreFor the first time I decided to eat at large mall and tried the Crab Your Way. I asked for the Alaska King Crabs 🦀. That was a bad decision. First, my meal came served over our crispy potatoes, that was over fried, with the crab legs on top. Secondly, the broccoli 🥦 was not with the order. I questioned if was this my order? The waitress said yes and apologized that the side dish wasn't delivered. I must say the broccoli was tasty; however, the crab was another story. Some of the legs didn't have meat inside them. I became concerned and inquired about this matter. The waitress explained that they have been experiencing some of the orders that way but if I was not happy she could get me another order. My spouse on the other hand enjoyed his ultimate feast meal. Thirdly, I decided to ordered the new shrimp pasta meal. The presentation looked delicious; however, the taste was horrible. I asked my spouse to try it and he immediately recognized there was a problem with the sauce. Finally, I told the waitress the sauce tasted like it was spoiled and they need to check on this before they serve it again. She apologized and removed both meals from the bill. We were celebrating the birth of our first grandchild and I didn't get the chance to enjoy my meal. The waitress; however, was very sweet. We did leave her a tip considering this was no fault of hers. I usually take photos of all my food dishes, didn't this time. After waiting for the grandchild's birth, I was hungry and just wanted to eat. I did; however, take one of the shrimp pasta and the card...
