My Black Card Planet Fitness Membership is the BEST money I’ve EVER spent on myself! And my home-club, the Tucson Mall PF on Old Oracle Rd has become my HAPPY place thanks to the excellence of the people in charge and the GREAT equipment and amenities at this particular club. Before finding the “No Judgement Zone” that Planet Fitness is known for, I was a 3-time “Fit-Club Fail” (4-times if you count cutting PE class in HS). I was good at signing up; not so good at ever going back to actually work out. After two knee replacement surgeries though, and a lot of recovery PT, I decided I should get serious about getting fit. A family member in Calif has been a Planet Fitness member for years and highly recommended them, so I stopped by the Tucson Mall location for a look see. First impressions are important, and this facility appeared to be clean and super well maintained. Also, Chay and her staff were so patient and professional answering my newbie questions and showing me around all the equipment at the gym that I ended up signing up that very day, and at the Black Card level, too! It helped too, when I first visited to see the diversity of guests working out… there were ’seasoned citizens’ like myself, some teens and everything in-between. It felt ok not to be fit YET :-) and gave me confidence to try just about all the machines and not feel dumb (seeing that not everyone there looked like a trainer or body builder). That Black Card also turns health time into friendship time for me since I can always bring a guest (keeping accountability and my motivation high, too) and I can even go to other PF locations when I travel. Since joining last spring, my workouts have increased my flexibility which helps cut my arthritis pain, and I dropped some weight, too (pleasant surprise, that). My endurance is much greater and I don’t tire so easily. When I broke my foot and had a cast, I could STILL work out, since there are so many other equipment options beyond my favorites; I just worked around the injury. I love being able to go at all different times, too. Planet Fitness is open almost all the time (24/5 plus two other long days) and I think I’ve visited all the shifts at some point. I’ve gotten to meet and interact with so many of the Tucson Mall location staff, and really appreciate the sincerity, graciousness and support I’ve encountered consistently from Chay, Hosea, Maggie, Emilio, Austin, Frankie and Warren. I hope I didn’t forget any names, since they’ve ALL contributed to helping me make fitness a habit, whether showing me how to use a particular piece of equipment, answering questions about circuit training, making sure I have eye protection when I use the light booth, or just being encouraging about the healthy changes I’m working to make. I feel like “I have people” there, looking out for me on this fitness journey. And finally, while all the above makes me a dedicated Planet Fitness fan, the Black Card bonuses like discounts, and having access to the hydro massage chair and the light booth after a good workout is wonderful, too. I’m sooooooo glad the Planet Fitness brand was recommended to me and I’m super glad that--this time—I found workout success! I can enthusiastically and without hesitation fully recommend the Planet Fitness brand and especially my home club, the Tucson Mall PF on Old Oracle. I’ve tried out all the Tucson (and Oro Valley) locations, and even checked out a couple PFs in Phoenix and Mesa when I had to be in those cities for other stuff. While almost all have been consistently excellent, my home PF at Tucson Mall is far and away the absolute BEST! Thanks Planet Fitness! You ROCK!!!

I travel extensively and have trained at over fifteen PF, and this PF is unequivocally the best! This PF is huge and offers all the space and quality equipment needed to get your set's in and get out. No waiting for a machine, this is for sure! Another factor that set's this facility aside as the best, is the welcoming staff. A huge shout out to Keegan for his over the top professionalism and leading by example approach to management . Keegan set's a high standard for his gym that I have never seen before and keep's this facility operating-room clean. Refreshing to Keegan's constant smile, good vibes and his hard work that set's "the standard" by which all other gym's should be judged!

Featuring a large cardio theater, various weight machines, hydro massage chairs and friendly team members happy to advise the best package for you. $25 p/m for all locations + free guests + amenities or $10 p/m for the basic plan. Thanks for the quick sign-up Joseph and Hailey! Edit: 1 Year Update – Pros: Insanely friendly staff, less busy than comparable gyms, large variety of equipment and areas. Cons: No ice cold drinking water, 3 showers per locker room, only two smith machines. If you travel around town and need the flexibility of various locations this gym is perfect for you.

To me, Planet Fitness is a casual gym membership. It's a great place to go when you want to start getting back into shape and building good exercise habits. As you start to get closer to your health and fitness goals, you will start to realize that it lacks quite a bit as far as gyms go but that's okay because as I mentioned before PF is a casual gym.

As far as being affordable, that's what Planet Fitness is. Plans start at $10/mo, but if you want a black card it's double that. If you don't go to the gym everyday for whatever reason, you won't have that huge monthly membership fee to guilt you into going even when/if you can't.

They have a ton of cardio machines but as far as weight lifting machines go, it can be very difficult getting onto machines unless you go during dead hours. For me, that's between 2-4am. But check Google's popular times to determine what's a good fit for your schedule. I find that the graph is accurate as far as popular or crowded times go.

The place is extremely clean. The locker rooms are disgustingly clean. There's free Wi-Fi for music or whatever else you use to complete your workout. They offer free pizza once a week, bagels as well, and they offer free candy daily. This personally doesn't add anything nutritional to my diet so I pass on the offerings, but I think it's a great idea. It really sets the gym up for a casual, non-judgmental atmosphere which is what people who are out of shape sort of need to get them on the proper health and fitness track.

I have found that most of the employees are friendly and polite but I don't go to the gym to socialize with the employees so I don't interact with them outside of checking in with my phone.

As I said before, I feel the weight lifting machines are limited in number and sometimes quality. But for now PF is really helping me build positive long-term fitness habits with its casual gym environment so I'm happy to work with what they've got until I'm ready to move on to more serious...

I’ve had the opportunity to come to this Gym for about 1 month now and within this past month I can honestly say this Planet is better than the Planet on Broadway and Swan. The difference between this Gym is the Cleanliness, the bathrooms are extremely clean. I noticed that Sam is Always cleaning the Bathrooms and all the equipment when I am there and I really appreciate her attention to detail. Jesus is always smiling at the front desk and in a great mood when welcoming everyone in the building and leaving as well. I like that there is always a warm welcome into the building knowing that the building is also extremely clean too. I also had the honor of training with Jesse, this man was prior military and with so much respect in the game of working out I truly appreciate his feed back and positivity to making the workouts so much fun and exciting regardless of the pain you’re going through! I also have had the opportunity to meet Keyon in the building several Times as well, he is very helpful when it comes to explanation of the equipment to familiarize myself more and assists on making sure I’m using them correctly and provides great advice on which tool to use to be successful in my workouts. This planet fitness gives you the comfortability to feel judgment free which is exactly what their Moto is. It’s a peaceful gym and I enjoy my workouts every time I am here. Thank you to all the hard working individuals who have shined throughout my time here and I am very appreciative of the...
