The short version: Boxing inc is amazing. The staff members are all welcoming and friendly. They are full of energy in their classes. They are knowledgeable, and willing to answer questions. I highly recommend this facility. Whether you are new to the fitness world or have been boxing/working out for years, the trainers are adept enough to adapt to your level! For the longer, more in-depth version, and the reasons why I cannot recommend boxing inc enough, please read on!
I first started with Boxing Inc in November of 2021. I was 310lbs and slowly decaying from the effects of depression and health issues. I had tried for years, and nothing helped me lose weight.
Well, one day I was shopping at the Tucson mall sometime around Black Friday when I was approached by the man at the boxing inc booth. He asked me if I’d like to try boxing, and by this point I was desperate, so I was like sure, why the hell not 😅
I walked into that boxing facility extremely out of shape. It was embarrassing for me, and I almost left. One of the instructors, EJ, was extremely welcoming, and he broke the ice by nerding out with me over spider-man. It has been this way ever since.
The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. They are full of energy, which is exactly what any newcomer into the fitness industry needs. If anyone knows how daunting it is to take that first step towards a healthier life, it’s me!! I promise you will find nothing but support and encouragement from the trainers in this facility. I walked into the facility discouraged and embarrassed, but I walked out empowered and motivated. I’ve since evolved into a fitness badass. I went from 310lbs-164lbs only by changing my diet and taking boxing classes regularly here. I’ve since added in weight-training and other things . . . But if you are looking to start your fitness journey, I highly recommend...
Read moreI didn't have a great experience. I've never been a boxer so I joined hoping to learn boxing skills and get in shape but what I got was just immature instructors and front desk people who really didn't seem to care if I was making progress or learning anything.
I found the instructors and the front desk people to not be helpful to a beginner. Needless to say I was gone after a month of very little interaction or help with what I was learning. You would think they would want to sustain a membership but they didn't even try. I think they just wanted me to pay more for a personal instructor since they seemed to push that a lot when I asked questions.
One of the instructors I worked with was super young and cocky and when I asked questions about form and I found his answers to be dismissive and vague and when I asked him to clarify or elaborate on his responses he didn't seem to have the social skills or experience to really answer them well.
The people at the front just didn't seem to care about giving me advice on how to use the gym or how to make the most of my membership. Once they got my money they stopped caring. They kinda just joked around with each other and when I approached to ask questions they seemed to to busy hanging out to care.
Don't go there if you're a beginner trying to get in shape and learn some boxing skills. They will let you do a sample lesson and act like they care about your experience, like they want to see you improve, and then once you're in they stop caring and just focus on getting new members...
Read moreI’ve lost 100 lbs since becoming a member at Boxing Inc. So I made a list of some of the things Boxing Inc offers that enabled me to do that:
Group classes. You feel more comfortable in a group setting with people all around encouraging you. It makes you want to keep coming back.
Learning to fight. You learn to fight and at the same time burn calories while learning.
You can go at your own pace. The coaches work at your level regardless of your minimum.
Boxing is a sport that can be done almost every single day. Even if you are sore after a tough workout, your body recovers very quickly for the next day.
The coaches are very professional and really care about your fitness journey.
Boxing allows you to let off steam after a tough day and take out anger on the bag.
Boxing Inc is a place where fat does not survive, you also build self-esteem as your body starts to transform.
There are always new members in every class, so you are never singled out as the “new guy.”
Boxing Inc provides a comfortable transition from beginner to fighter. Even if you’ve never participated in combat sports, the transition happens very fast.
The 100 lb weight loss journey took me less than a year. Boxing Inc. provided the road for...
