For most of my adult beverage drinking life I dismissed beer. For me beer was something served as a pony to back whatever spirits I might have been enjoying. Tap & Bottle has changed my relationship with beer. Now I enjoy it and have sampled so many tastes I might have never explored.
Tap & Bottle provides a comfortable space with humble and knowledgable service. It's amazing how many times I've just walked in without any idea what I might like to sample and suddenly I'm presented with a bevy of options. And if there's nothing on tap I'm feeling the staff will take the time to walk me through the bottle shop offering advice and ample choices.
Another create aspect of Tap & Bottle is that in many ways it serves as a community space, meeting space, and station for downtown dwellers. Fortunately I live just blocks away from T&B and on countless occasions I've just strolled in the front door only to be greeted by friends. It's that kind of serendipity that fosters Tap & Bottle’s certain something. Of course it's also worth noting that many of the folks that work at Tap & Bottle have become my friends and this includes the owners, Rebecca and Scott.
If you like beer or are just curious or maybe just looking for a great place to hole up with a book then wander over to Tap & Bottle. You might just make a new friend and if not you'll definitely have a...
Read moreSo, first time here. I went on recommendation from a friend and she met me there as well. Mainly, I wanted to buy her dinner from the other place she recommended (a sri lanken food truck that's there on Thursdays).
Honestly, I'm not sure what Tap and Bottle has in the way of food. We ordered drinks, and I went out front to the truck and got us dinner (which they allow you to eat inside Tap - thank goodness as it was steamy outside).
Even early on a Thursday evening, Tap was pretty busy. My friend had her pup, Penny, and there was at least one other customer with their pet.
They have a large selection of beer here. Several ice boxes with cans and bottles (nicely organized). There are also quite a few choices available on tap (again, the menu is nicely organized, which makes ordering so much easier - want an ale, go to that section, IPA guy? They're all listed together).
My only gripe was the noise level, and not sure what they could do to help with that. At times it was difficult to hear each other.
With that, solid recommend for Tap. They have many drinks options I can't wait to explore, and (of course) Casa Video is right there (and those vintage movies bring back memories). Check Tap out for yourself, and try the sri lanken food truck on Thursday...
Read moreI have a love/hate relationship with this tap and bottle location. The beer selection is fantastic with a wide variety of options to choose from. I wouldn’t say the best selection in Tucson, but definitely in the top three. It’s usually not horribly packed and fairly easy to find a spot to sit. I also like that they clean their beer lines fairly often and display a “cleaned on X date sign”, that’s always a plus in my book.
However, I have to say that the service tends to be very hit or miss and overall a bit lackluster. The bartenders usually are not very personable, particularly the ones working towards the end of the week/weekend. I must admit that there is one bartender that usually works during the weekdays and she is straight up awesome.
It would be great to feel a bit more welcomed and valued during my visits. Which unfortunately to my wallet, in some months are a little too often.
In summary, subpar service with a great beer selection. Cheers!
Tip- try to avoid Thursday nights, they usually have live music a little too loud and makes it impossible to have a...
