came here for the queso birria tacos, and I left with a full stomach and a mixed bag of emotions. The birria was fire. Juicy, cheesy, and the dipping broth had that deep, slow-cooked richness that makes you want to drink it straight from the cup (which I did). If you’re a birria fan, this spot delivers. Now, the pork belly..meh. Someone in the kitchen either got distracted or has a personal vendetta against moisture because it was overcooked to sadness. Not inedible, just... disappointing. Like when you order medium rare and it comes out medium. Not a deal breaker. But not stoked about it. And the guacamolw needed a flavor punch. Fresh. But not real tasty. Service was Friendly. They got the order wrong tho. Would I come back? Maybe for the birria.

We stopped by for lunch and was blown away. It is easy to miss from outside, but this a is a must stop for some delicious Mexican food! We ordered the Sonoran dog combo with tacos, chips, beans, and churros. The pork belly taco was incredible and the chicken was super flavorful. The surf and turf was also very good. The chips are made to order and extremely fresh. The salsa are delicious but be careful of the red one, it is super hot! To finish, the churros... These may be the best I have ever had. They came out hot, with raspberry and caramel sauce. Taqueria La Esquina is a must stop if you are in south Tucson! Highly recommended.

This place 😍 these elote ribs 😘 it's everything. I found this place thanks to the Death Free Foodie and it has been a favorite ever since. The elote ribs are a must every.time. The avocado salsa for your tacos is also very important! I don't have a favorite taco, I just like to get a couple of one or two kinds each time I visit. When the weather is nice, the windows are open on the bar side. When the local Air Force Base - Davis-Monthan has pilots flying, you can see and hear the jets from the bar side. It's really great. 💓

PLEASE stay far away from this place is you’re looking for a spot to eat. While the Southside is not in short supply of great taco spots, the service here has been beyond atrocious. It’s never been busy anytime I’ve been but my observation with the staff has led me to the conclusion that they’re extremely lazy & incompetent. The food is mediocre at best & this place definitely at the bottom of my list for anywhere to eat in Tucson.

This most recent encounter I walked in & the guy at the front told me he’d be right with me, who was also having a side conversation with the manger. There was one table of 2 outside waiting to order & another table inside already finished with their food. After I waited for roughly 5 minutes AFTER he went to check on a table, even cash someone out & has a casual conversation with his coworker or manager (in Spanish), I respectfully asked them why they refused to take my order. The biggest insult was that I addressed them in Spanish & they had the audacity to respond in English as if they didn’t just hear me speak to them. As a native Spanish speaker, I find it extremely insulting & even more disrespectful. While I assume the manager aplogized, he incorrectly assumed that I had already been taken care of. I’m not sure how, but he admitted he was not paying attention, which clearly shows. “I can take your order now,” said the manager but I told him that I would not be buying anything ever, nor would I recommend that anyone dine at this establishment. He only seemed to somewhat care once I told him that it wasn’t the first or second time I’ve had this happen. While I wasn’t looking for a free meal, they certainly didn’t help by acting like it wasn’t a big deal.

I’m not a spiteful person & I did wish him the best of luck but my recommendation is to not waste your time on this place where the staff seem to be oblivious to who...

This is the third time I dine in here, and last night the service from the girl serving us out in the patio was unfriendly & rude. She never checked to see how the food came out or asked if we was doing good or needed another drink. She made our michelada after a while and for my third time there I seen better presentation for this drink which the same server made for us the first visit. I noticed she was working alone so she took long with everything, that’s understandable. The part of her service and rude attitude tour’s us was not acceptable. Meanwhile she is friendly to other guest around us. Told my friend let’s go because we felt unwelcome and when I got up to pay the Sever was more then fast to help me with the check. Still gave her 15 % tip even though tonight her manners and attention did not deserve it. I’ve tipped her over 20% before but I felt bad as I invited my friend there for her first time and walked out with a bad impression from the girl at the patio working Monday night! Food was good my order wasn’t correct and we all make mistakes, so I did not even wanna bring this up to the server as my friend had asked her for a soda and when she did bring it she brought a sprite in a can which was not cold or a glass with ice for the drink. She passed us by and just dropped it off. Bad experience rude server. She needs a bar back or extra help...

This little secret gem deserves more recognition than it gets. It has the potential to be the go-to spot for good food, drinks with friends after work or any day taco craving. My mom had the Flautas but she was still hungry and order two more tacos. I had the two taco del alpastor and caramelo combo which came with a canned drink. It was savory and flavorful. The salsas are fire (meaning really REALLY good for you boomers out there). Fair warning tho, there is a green salsa that is spicy and the other is guacamole. All four salsas are very good tho!!! This place is licensed to sell liquor, and we ordered the No mames margarita which was perfect and delicious. Overall I highly recommend you give this place a chance and while the parking ample, once this place gains the traction it deserves, you'll find it hard to park! So give this a chance!!! You might make this...
