I’ve been eating here since 2021, since I traveled in my former job to Tulare once or twice a week. When I tell you, these bbq pork fries and their spam misubi honor this place’s name, Krave! I’d order them both monthly! I am no longer working in the area, but yesterday I had the pleasure of passing by & knew I needed to make a stop here for their food!
The Krave fries have a flavor combination that’s entirely unmatched anywhere else. The seasoned fries are topped with bbq pork, spicy mayo, green onions, & jalapeños. It’s just a tinge of spice, and the spicy mayo is sweet and light sauce so they coat every fry with the right amount of flavor.
Their spam misubi (not pictured), was so good, I forgot to take a picture. But you get two generous sized misubis, topped with perfectly crisp pieces of Spam. They are bedded with a generous amount of rice, and wrapped in nori seaweed. It doesn’t appear anything else is coupled with them, until you take a bite! The misubis have a delicious sauce coating the inside of the nori. I have eaten spam misubi at restaurants & even tried making home recipes. Yet still, their misubi sauce is unlike any other! Perfect level of sweetness and amount of sauce that couples with the Spam, nori, & rice.
After revisiting, I knew I needed to leave a review, because 4 years past, and Krave still stands the test of time. Quality, consistency, & “Kravings” are things you’re bound to get...
Read moreAddendum: I don't like writing these. We often order from Krave and have always been pleased with their service as of late. However, the last order didn't go so well. We ordered a meal on my wife's phone. To make sure the two items were correct, my wife called, and was told in person that the modification would be handled perfectly. When we received the food, the modification was even underlined on the receipt. And yet, they forgot to actually do the modification (no sauce). Sure, not the end of the world for my son. But frustrating none the less. I had to take the food back to get it completed correctly. They did so, even kept the old one's. No offers were given for my time. The employee was kind during the process. No issues there.
Priced well for Tulare, my family and I enjoy getting some Take Out Poke Bowls from here. We have never eaten in house, but the quality of food and service is always well done. My last visit had a bout with a clerk that may have worked a bit too fast, despite there be no one else in store (but I understand that can change quickly). The owner also frequents and gives great service. I highly recommend the place to anyone in the area looking for something...
Read moreThe restaurant functions like a fast food restaurant. You pay at the register and then go sit down and wait for them to bring the food. The food is average at best, the 2 Ramen we got tasted nothing like any ramen I've had before, I don't even know if you can call the broth a ramen broth, it taste like a basic pork broth that has the usual Ramen topping. The ramen noodles that both my girlfriend and I got were over cooked so there was this mushy after taste to the them. Both of our ramen were also really salty for some reason. I barely finished mine becasue of how salty it was. I got the Shoyu ramen and my girlfriend got the Spicy Ramen. We ordered the spam masubi as a appetizer. The flavors were good but the structure of the masubi was not. Before even getting to the middle of it, the whole thing was falling apart. As a side note this restaurant does not have fountain drink so expect to pay for bottle water or can soda if you want to have a drink along with your food.
On a good note, the service was really fast we got our appetizer only a few minutes after we sat down and the...
