Stopped by 88 BaoBao for a quick to-go order and left with a new obsession: their pan fried pork baos. We walked in just after they got their power back, and even though they were still recovering from the outage, the staff were so kind and apologetic about the wait. Honestly, I didn’t mind at all—everyone was friendly, the space was clean, and you could tell they genuinely cared about their food and their customers.
I ordered the pan fried pork baos, beef rolls, and Shanghai-style shrimp chow mein. All three were absolutely delicious, but those pork baos? Crispy on the bottom, soft on top, juicy and flavorful inside. I’ll be thinking about them for a long time.
Prices are a bit on the higher side, but for freshly made baos and solid portions, it felt worth it. Plus—where else around here can you even get pan fried baos this good?
Can’t wait to come back and try more...
Read moreDue to the foul odor inside the restaurant. Possibly from old sewer pipe and/or dirty grease trap.
We order to-go the following food items:
Custard buns-over price for 3 small buns.
Popcorn Chicken- mostly small bits of chicken drenched in heavy batter. Taste bland, no seasoning at all, Small portion for an over price cost.
Fried Rice- decent flavor taste & portion, overall fair price.
XiaoLong Bao-decent flavor taste & portion, overall fair price.
Black Garlic Ramen-
There was no dipping sauce for popcorn chicken or any condiments for the XiaoLong Bao. And no utensils or napkins.
Overall the experience is not worth the money. I may reconsider trying again...
