We went for my birthday lunch and were very happy that we chose Chili's. We arrived right at opening time (currently 11:30 due to the weather) We were greeted then seated immediately upon arrival. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea. It seemed a bit weak and was not nearly as dark as usual. There was also way too much ice and very little drink. I didn't even get a slight buzz (one of the equivalent drinks at Rib Crib is enough to put me under the table!) I've previously had very satisfying Long Island Iced Teas at Chili's; unfortunately this was not one of them and I switched to regular sweet tea part way through my meal. I am not a huge eater so I ordered the Smoke House combo so that I could split it with my daughter. I had the open faced smoked brisket sandwich on the "chile-garlic" toast. My sandwich was presented very nicely and quiet tasty although the brisket was a bit on the dry side. The real star of my meal for me was the Mexican style grilled "street" corn. It took me back to my days in Cali when the corn man would come around with his little hand truck. The corn was very sweet and perfectly prepared with the the necessary chili powder (and lots of it; they did NOT skimp!) and mayo. I ate every bit of my ear and would have very gladly had another! I ordered the fries and chicken tenders to take to my daughter. I sampled a fry and they were extremely good; the outside was nice and crisp and beautifully browned and the inside tasted very fresh and was very moist and meaty. I did not sample the chicken tenders (I have stage 4 nonHodgkins and do not eat fried foods very often) but they were visually very appealing with a nice crispy breading on good sized tenders. Noticeably missing were the garlic dill pickles, which I was actually looking forward to sampling. For my birthday dessert, I decided to split the mini molten lava cake with my daughter. I was quite full at that point and the servers kindly split it then boxed it up into separate containers for me. I found the cake to be a bit dry and it seemed to be a bit past optimum freshness. Since I no longer use a microwave, I missed out on the experience of the hot fudge sauce dripping into the cake and melting into the ice cream but the sauce itself was delicious, even cold. I am a long time fan of Chili's and we have celebrated many family birthdays and other special occasions there. Today's trip was not perfect but I am not dissatisfied and definitely intend to...
Read moreI've given this place a couple of tries and I would say for the price it is less than average. The first time I went there the service was so bad I ended up finding a stray water pitcher to fill my own cup up several times, and wandering around begging for napkins and silverware because our server was nowhere. They said one of the employees didn't show up that night so that's why they were behind, I get it, but it was really bad. The most recent visit January 2018 we had good service. The hostess seemed super confused, but our server was amazing, checked on us many times, joked around and made things enjoyable. The food was very lacking though. All of our fries were cold, mushy and under-seasoned. I wasn't going to say anything, but the 13 year old I was with took one bite and said, "These taste like they've been reheated." Her burger was absolutely drowning in mustard. We told her not to complain and just eat it, but then she opened up the burger and it was like they spilled an entire jar of mustard on there. The bun was completely wet and soggy from mustard. Luckily another server noticed and quickly got us another bun, which was very nice. I got the buffalo chicken ranch sandwich, and never again. There was not any ranch that I could detect. It was a very large piece of chicken on my sandwich but was basically inedible. Somehow they made buffalo chicken dry? Not much sauce on it and all I could taste was salt. It hurt my mouth it was so salty. I'll try the Chili's at Tulsa...
Read moreWe ate here on the evening of 2/23/19. The hostess handed my daughter the menus and silverware and pointed to the table on the other side of the half wall and said "Here can you do it? I have to go do something" Had 3 people that got the 3 for $10 and only one of them got the starter plate. The other two had to ask for it after our main meal was served. Asked for refills several times and the waitress would would say "Ok, I'll be right back with that." Then she would never return. I daughter ordered a pineapple juice to drink and they brought her a can of juice that they use in the bar. She said " This is not how they serve it at other Chili's, they give it to me in a glass. They gave us several things like extra ranch, refills, and appetizer by handing it to us over the half wall instead of walking around to the table. When it was time for to bring us the dessert we ordered she tells us that they are out but brought us a cheesecake instead. Would have been nice to be asked what other dessert would you like since we are out of the one you ordered but no they decided we would get the cheesecake. Worst Chili's I have ever been to! I guess everything is better in TX.......at least our...
