Heads up to out of town folks who may not know the place queso and sopapillas cost extra. We are used to going to Mexican restaurants where the queso and salsa are a part of your meal at no additional charge as well as sopapillas. Salsa also taste like Pace not typically in house salsa that you expect to find. The waitress asked us if we wanted queso as soon as we sat down before we even had a chance to look at the menus and we said yes. We picked up our menus and realized it was going to be additional which wasn’t a huge deal but I feel like either she should have let us know or let us get a chance to look at the menu first. Same kind of happened with sopapillas. She asked if we wanted some after the meal of course our menus were long gone by then and again no mention of additional charge so the check was a little surprising once we got it. I had the enchiladas with shredded beef and they were really good. My husband had the flautas and he said they were also fairly good. Our service was so/so the restaurant wasn’t even busy and it was after lunch rush. Our waitress only came by to take our order and once to check if we wanted sopapillas at the end of our meal. So I guess buyer beware don’t ask for anything until you’ve gone over the menu entirely. Restaurant was relatively clean bathrooms are tiny and barely had soap and paper towels weren’t in the dispenser. If you are tall good luck using the women’s restroom as I am short and my knees were touching the door. Also good luck if you need to help a small child go to...
Read moreI don't know how the food is, because I didn't even get a chance to sit down. I, however, will not ever go back. Me and my daughter got dropped off next door at the car rental place to pick up our rental. Only to walk in and be told they don't have a vehicle for me and won't at all. So I had to make some calls to try and find us a car. We decided that we needed to eat and kill time until they found us a car. My phone was on 4%, we are starving, annoyed, and clearly just wanted to sit and calm down from the mess for a little bit. I asked the gentleman if there was some place that I could possibly plug in my phone because I have an important phone call coming in and my phone is going to die (then we'd be really screwed). He motioned to a place that I could plug it in to get a little bit of a charge. Then this lady walks up and was very rude. She proceeded to tell me that I am not allowed to plug my phone in anywhere in the restaurant while we ate. Completely dismissed me and and went on to seat the people that were waiting for a table behind us. Like we didn't matter. Really?! Terrible customer service. My day is going bad enough. We just wanted somewhere to sit, eat, and get a few bars on my battery, and you completely dismiss me and say no, why? The other man said yes. I wasn't just freeloading off your electricity. I was going to spend money. I won't ever come back. And I will tell anyone who will listen not...
Read moreWell, the place is decorated cute. 😬 The chips were super plain. The salsa was flavored well and was fresh. That's always a great start. My mom had the cheese quesadilla. Her reaction was that it was very plain with no flavor. And that's saying a lot since it's just cheese and tortilla. But she has that everywhere so I'll trust her judgement. She said that Hard Rock food court's tastes better. Yikes. I had the grilled chicken with fajita vegetables chimichanga, rice, and churro beans. The rice looked pretty but didn't have much taste because it was al dente and hadn't soaked up flavor yet. The beans were really good. They had a nice flavor like they'd actually been seasoned and cooked well. Now the chimichanga tasted good and was a really good portion. But... the amount of oil pooled around and soaked in the tortilla was disturbing. I had to not think about it. I probably shouldn't have eaten it but I just attempted to take off as much extra tortilla as I could. I was in shock that a restaurant would serve something so obviously greasy that it pooled under and around the chimi. The waiter was nice enough. But of all the other Mexican food choices we have we now remember why we hadn't chosen Chimis in years and years even though it's a couple miles...
