Visited the store on May 10th. Hadn't yet gone to Mother Roads Market, so we made the stop for my sister's birthday. My sister and I decided we'd try a Howdy burger. Looking at the menu, it was a bit pricey, but we decided to give it a try. We both had a double/w cheese $8.50. I got fries, and she got the onion rings $4.00. No drink for me, but since it was her birthday, the cashier gave her a drink on the house. The burger was small, but it tasted OK. Fries got cold too fast, not good. Before we left, my sister ordered a single burger to go. We both paid using a card. There was a customer ahead of me, and the cashier said something about we do accept tips, and then she proceeded to take my order. Both order totals were $12.48. I'm not sure of the total for takeout burger. NOW HERE'S THE KICKER!!! I'M LOOKING AT MY ONLINE BANKING MONDAY AND $17.48 WAS CHARGED TO MY ACCOUNT. RIGHT THEN I SAID THIS * GAVE HERSELF A $5 TIP WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. I FOUND MY RECEIPT AND THE TOTAL IS $12.48. THE CASHIER HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO ADD IN A TIP WITHOUT THE CUSTOMER'S KNOWLEDGE. AT THIS POINT I'M HOT!! BECAUSE YOU JUST STOLE FROM ME. SHE GOT MY SISTER I'M GUESSING TWICE, $10.00. THIS IS STRAIGHT UP STEALING!! AND COULD HAVE CAUSE EITHER ONE OF US TO HAVE A NEGATIVE BALANCE IN OUR ACCOUNTS AND BOUNCED CHECKING FEE'S THROUGH OUR BANKS. THE NERVE OF SOMEONE THINKING THEY KNOW WHAT'S IN YOUR ACCOUNT AND DECIDE TO PAY THEMSELVES. FROM HERE I CALLED THE STORE AND GOT THE MANAGERS' NAME. (STEVEN) I TOLD HIM WHAT HAD OCCURRED GAVE HIM THE INFORMATION NEEDED. HE OFFERED ME NO APOLOGY AND SAID HE WOULD CHECK IT OUT AT THE END OF THE NIGHT AND GET ME MY MONEY BACK. TOLD HIM MY SISTER WAS ALSO GONNA CALL HIM FOR HER MONEY. I'M EXTREMELY MAD AT THIS POINT BECAUSE I HAVE CALLED THE MANAGER (STEVEN) 4 TIMES ABOUT MY MONEY BEING PUT BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT. THE LAST CALL HE CHUCKLED AND TRIED TO OFFER ME A MEAL. NO, SIR!!! I WANT MY MONEY TO BE REFUNDED THE SAME WAY IT WAS TAKEN. IT'S BEEN OVER 12 DAYS AND I STILL DON'T HAVE MY MONEY BACK. THE YOUNG LADY NEEDS TO BE FIRED FOR STEALING . HOW MANY CUSTOMERS HAS SHE DONE THIS TOO. I GAVE YOU 1 STAR 🌟 CAUSE THE BURGER WAS OK. EVERYTHING ELSE IS BULLSHIT!! I WILL NOT PATRONIZE THIS...
Read moreI'm pretty confident in saying that there's two things we're self-proclaimed "experts" on. Tacos and burgers. That being said, and the fact that the burger scene in Tulsa has so much depth, we can tend to be pretty critical of burger joints that we visit.
Howdy Burger is killin' it! Like next-level burgers. My gf and I spent a good deal of time in CA, and we hit In-N-Out Burger a few times. Not that Howdy Burger is a knock off of In-N-Out, but their burgers are that quality. The crisp on the outside of the burger patties take you straight back to days of an old diner burger, from back in the day. The fixings were fresh and delicious. A classic style burger that is just done well.
I had a double with cheese and added bacon and jalapeños. My gf has a SEVERE gluten allergy, so the fact that Howdy Burger has a gluten-free bun option was definitely encouraging, although our experience is that a good gluten-free bun is HARD to find. The GF bun here was a nice change from that. My gf was impressed with the bun (for a GF bun) and instantly voted that Howdy Burger become our new "go-to" burger joint. If you've got a GF allergy or intolerance, Howdy Burger can't be beat (at this point) for a good GF bun. Change my mind.
My gf and I split an order of Rodeo fries, and they were LEGIT! HIGHLY recommend an order when you stop by. Make your Mama proud, and be sure to get into an order of these fries. Some the best in town. I guarantee.
Howdy Burger is a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The only deduction was in regards to their limited menu options. I will say though, that there's something to be said for offering less options, but doing the options that you do offer REALLY, REALLY well.
Get some Howdy Burger in your life......
Read moreTrash! First, I ordered from the 71st and Yale McNellies restaurant. The two chicken quesadillas were dry and hard, the two queso and chips was extremely runny, the brownie was dry and hard, and the carrot cake was dry. I took the queso back to be replaced (before I discovered issues with all of the other food), that night. We could not eat the food, and I took most of it back the next day (as hunger set in, my brother in law ate some of the food). I was offered a gift card, instead of a refund, in which the manager says she could not refund money (??????!!!!!!!) without the general manager????!!!!!! Ignorance in and of itself! Soooooo, begrudgingly I accepted the gift card that was only $8 more than I had spent my hard earned money on the night before. I decided to order from Howdy Burger, since I was able to use the gift card at any of their restaurants in the McNellie group. Howdy Burger is TRASH! The online ordering did not allow me to customize my order with items not listed (like mustard, ketchup and pickles!!) so I had to call to place the order. The guy who took my order was rushing me, he was rude, and kept asking as if I was a huge bother, “Is there anything else?!” The burgers were small and extremely dry, with no seasoning or flavor! The shoestring fries had no taste. The pink guava lemonade was too sour and gross. I would NEVER recommend McNellies or Howdy Burger to anyone! And if this is indicative of the service and quality of food that is served at their other establishments, I will not be patronizing any of their restaurants anymore... for the entire, rest of my life. I’m sure that doesn’t mean a lot to some people, but I will continue to relay my experience to all whom...
