As a fellow restaurateur I hesitate to leave less than five stars as I know many potential guests look at the average stars and if it is below four they will pass regardless what the comments are. I think you have a great property, love the interior (I actually bused tables in this space when it was Pablo's 35 years ago! I'm a two time customer as I now live out of state otherwise I'd frequent it more. We did a special birthday dinner there for my daughter and son-in-law two years ago and again last week. The food was still very good but I believe the servings are becoming a bit chintzy in size. I had the lobster tortellini this trip which was incredibly good but it was disappointing to see 8 or 9 tortellinis for $25 or whatever when the bowl showed up. Two of our party had the tortellini and four had the short rib pasta and the total bill was nearly $300 with two cocktails and one or two glasses of wine and two or three apps. Short ribs aren't terribly expensive though do require a long cook time to get them just right- I get that. I cost menus in our business and I feel like you could still add a salad to your entrees or artesian bread basket and provide a bit more value for price paid. Again the food and service were outstanding but the portions for the price paid seem a bit on the small side even being in a high rent district. Your wait staff is very well trained and very engaging and we enjoy our experience and we will return but please do consider my comments as truly...
Read moreTake your money somewhere else because it's not valued here. Between tasteless, bland food and a childish business owner, you are better off going to McDonald's.
I joined a group of 10 people for brunch (20% gratuity). One of my friend's let the waitress know hat her meal was unseasoned - "it literally taste like nothing" she said. The waitress proceeds to tell her that there was nothing that they could do. They did not offer to make it right by any means - not a remake, replacement, dessert, refund. NOTHING. Sometime later, Oren's owner pulls up ag his restauurant (he was not on the premises the whole time until then) and confronts my friend about the review she left while we were still sitting in the restaurant. The only question that he asked was "So you are really not coming back." She answered that she meant what she said. Then he insinuated that we, the whole group, leave. To add insult to injury, this man says ["I'm sick of yall anyway"]
I dont know whats wrong with that man. Either he is entitled, a prick, overworked, hyperemotional or all of the above but he will not make it far as a business owner with this type of disregard for people's time and patronage. If we were those type of people, we really could have set it off. I just want to let you know what you would be getting...
Read moreCame to Oren for brunch this morning. It was like being in suspended time, everything in slo-mo. Our table ordered off the brunch menu. A carafe of non-spicy bloody john’s, a mimosa, a coffee with bailey’s. Waitress delivered coffee first, then carafe of bloodies, spicy, no accutrements. No bailey’s for the coffee. Asked about bailey’s on next waitress visitation and lime, olives for bloodies, she brought appetiser which was good. Then brought lime, olives..still no bailey’s. Asked again. Sat for a few waiting for bailey’s (by this time coffee was cold), asked again..she said a new bottle of bailey’s had to be opened ?? And only one bartender on duty. It wasn’t crowded so not understanding this. It took another 5 to 10 min. I saw waitress go behind bar, pour a shot of bailey’s, walk past me to the other end of restaurant with shot in hand. Getting the picture? Next ordered food. Never got mimosa until after food was brought and asking a few more times. Food was cold 😭😭😭. Spoke to manager. He comp’d our food, tab still $67. Overcharged for bailey’s. Food probably would have been good if hot. Not impressed with customer service or management. Restaurants have very small window to gain a loyal customer. Doubt...
