Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Tupelo

It's easy to spend a lot of money if you want a meal and a fountain drink or tea, but it is good, so we make it a special treat destination. Today I had the pick 2 combo of the pesto chicken sandwich and a Greek salad. Delicious! My kiddo had the sausage and pepperoni pizza (adult-sized because the kids size is tiny) and she liked it ok. She said next time she will get plain cheese because the sausage has lots of fennel seeds. The staff is friendly at the register, and even with Covid precautions, you can still ask for the extras that used to be out for the public (ex: croutons, jalapeños, sweet pickles, garlic). The tea is wonderful!

*The prices have increased on some menu items and the menu has changed a little recently. Today I had the soup and salad combo (tomato soup and caesar salad) and my daughter had the pepperoni pizza. Absolutely the worst service! I placed a curbside pickup order in the app at 9:30 a.m. for pickup at 1:00 p.m. I received texts asking me to check in when on my way and when I arrived. I did so and waited. And waited. And waited. I called repeatedly but they didn't answer. I ended up driving to another restaurant to pick up another order and it was brought out immediately. I then returned to Newks to wait some more. I had not wanted to go inside because I'm a healthcare worker still exposed to covid daily but after an hour finally gave up and went inside. My food had been sitting on a shelf for an hour and no one bothered to bring it out or notify me to go inside to pick it up. I requested that it be made fresh as I didn't want salmon that had been sitting out for an hour, so I had to wait again. Never did anyone apologize or even offer a coupon, free beverage, or anything. Never again! We'll find another place for...

I have never left a review but I’ve been so disappointed this week. I love Newk’s in Tupelo and eat there almost everyday. I don’t have long for lunch so it has been so convenient to call in my order as I’m walking to my truck and it would be ready when I got there. I either get the Newk’s club or pizza with a drink. This week it all changed. I was leaving for lunch and called ( I have the number saved in my phone) but quickly realized when no one answered something was wrong. When I looked up Newk’s I realized it didn’t show their number anymore and I had to order on line! I didn’t have time to do it with the time I had for lunch so I had to eat somewhere else. Today I had a minute in between patients at work and decided to add the app and order my regular but again I was disappointed. It asked so many questions and I received the wrong side...
