El Charro — Restaurant in Turlock

I must say, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of eating at.

I met some friends for lunch one day, El Charro being their suggestion. I was eager to try it as I'd heard so many good things about it.

We were greeted with chips, salsa and cabbage, as usual. The salsa was wonderful and the cabbage was pretty good, but it wasn't until my friend ordered a basket of flour tortilla chips that brought the flavors out.

I ordered the Flautas and I was very happy with the serving and the taste. It was wonderful. I don't remember what they ordered, but I remember everything looking and smelling fabulous.

The waiter was just attentive enough without being too intrusive. The tables are kind of crammed in there, but it's nothing that ruins your night.

Overall, I recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking authentic food. I will be returning to taste more...

I went with my mother for an early mother's day event. She ordered the nachos and I ordered an Asada Burrito with a side of rice and beans. I asked the server to add salsa in the burrito. When I got my food the rice and beans were amazing but the burrito after taking like 3 bites I realized it was a "burrito" only of Asada meat and the salsa I asked for inside a tortilla. I'm not sure about anybody else but USUALLY an Asada burrito at LEAST has the meat, beans and rice. To think if I didn't ask for salsa inside this so called burrito is wild. Meat tasted good though. I guess if you eat here just be specific about what you want in any meal...

The first time I was there it was good experience, went on a Thursday evening. 2nd time the service was bad and we were told only 1 margarita at a time, they gave us one and took the empty. This last time we, went for a friends bday and the, service was bad, we ordered a molcajete and waited 15 min for torrillas, the waitress was rude and said she ordered them and other waitress took them she then brought them and was rude. The bill was wrong they charged the wrong amount to the wrong credit cards, we will never go again. They didn't offer a discount but the waiter have us the owners phone number to complaint. Worse bday ever...
