They have an excellent selection of foods, and the quality of the food was great. The interior is a little dated but clean. The woman that seated us was very friendly and kind and that’s where the good service ended. Our server was very rude and never came back to check on us. There was a table next to us and she knocked over all their creamer and never picked it up and there was creamer all over the floor. When the next customers came to sit there, their server was apologizing and cleaned it up. When we got our check and ready to leave , she asked the one male in our group, “Did you want some more water, hon?”When she came back, we all put our glasses or cups on the edge of the table for her to fill them, and she only grabbed his and went behind the counter, filled it and came back and then left. For whatever reason she got irritated when we asked questions about menu items and even rolled her eyes. It’s possible she was having a bad day, but that shouldn’t be a concern of your customers. When we were leaving, we asked the young woman that sat as if there were other locations. She stated that there are and gave us the addresses of the other locations. We will definitely patronize...
Read moreThis place used to be the go-to breakfast place for huge servings at reasonable prices. I haven't been in years, just because none of the locations are convenient anymore, but it definitely is not what it used to be, not that most places are, but still had much higher expectations. Especially for the price - for my husband, myself, and our daughter, who is a year in a half, our bill was around 60$. For breakfast?! I didn't want or need potatoes plus biscuits and gravy, I got offered fruit, which I should have said no to because half of it was inedible. The strawberries were moldy, and the pineapple was bitter, like it had started to ferment. My husband had the linguiça omelet and said it wasn't bad, but he probably wouldn't order it again. I got chicken fried steak, and it was definitely a lot smaller than I expected it to be. On top of alllll that, the place wasn't busy by any stretch, and the waitress kept walking behind our daughter and bumping into the highchair, there was plenty of space to go around our table on either direction, but they just kept walking behind her with food and the full coffee pot😬it made both my husband and I very...
Read moreMy boyfriend moved to Merced over the summer and I drive up from Santa Clarita every other weekend. We wanted breakfast one morning so we drove to Turlock searching for My Garden Cafe that he had heard about from his staff at Mercy Medical Center. I was turned off by the name at first, it didn't grab my attention. But we decided to try it out anyways. It turned out to be such a delicious breakfast! He asked about the biscuits and chocolate pudding which he turned his nose up to and had regular biscuits and gravy instead. The waitress said it's one of those things that you either hate it or you love it. Two weeks later when I drove back to Merced we went back to My Garden Cafe and I just had to try the biscuits and chocolate pudding, i was curious and well...it's to die for and I can't get enough!!! Every time I drive up now, I make him take me there for breakfast and guess what I just have to have every time? Yup! Biscuits and chocolate pudding. I forgot to mention that everyone is super friendly and very attentive to their guests. You'll never have an empty...
