In a world of many chicken finger choices, this place edges out the competition. It's very similar to Guthrie's and Cane's, and in a way, Zaxby's. It's kind of surprising that the market's thirst for fried chicken, specifically fingers, can support so many options. I'd say that Foo's, Cane's, and Guthrie's are nearly identical when it comes to taste, with Foo's solidly edging out the lead by having much better sauce choices and a few more menu options. Zaxby's may have a larger menu and tons more locations, but the core of the menu is chicken fingers and Foo's does that better. The drive through experience is much like Chick-fil-A where they take your order on a tablet outside. I find this to be a necessary double-edged sword. Both restaurants do this because they have to. They're so popular that they'd lose business if they didn't do their absolute best to speed people through the drive-through. I went to the location in Tuscaloosa, 2 nights in a row, while in town for business. Both nights, there were over 20 cars in line in front of me when I pulled up. The line wraps down the street to where it turns off the main road. When it's that long, there comes a point that people can't line up on the main road and would have to pass it by because the line is to long. Both nights I went were around 8pm and it was nearly to the main road so I imagine it's worse at lunch and dinner times. In closing, if all 4 of these restaurants were next door to each other, I'd go to Foo's every time. I'll be back in Tuscaloosa to work at the stadium several times over the next couple months and will be eating at Foo's...
Read moreFoosackly's, WOW! I had no idea what to expect here having only heard it was kinda like Guthries. So I thought, great, another boring chicken-only place. But the kids wanted to try it so that's where we went. Seven entrees ordered in the drive thru. Was it perfect? No. The order taker did not try to "upsell" anything, but that's more of an issue for the business and not for the customer. Apart from that, she was very friendly. And a great thing was the wait time... they were super quick! Great job team. So far, so good. Got home and of course 7 entrees and 2 sides, surely they messed up somewhere, right? Well I was wrong to assume they would make an error. Every item was present and accounted for, and hot. Now, to the food... The cole slaw was good. The fries, really good. The chicken fingers, AMAZING! They were the best chicken fingers I've ever eaten. I didn't even know chicken fingers could taste that good, so juicy and tender. Their house sauce was good too, not much different than their competitors' house sauce. This is really hard for me to say, but here goes. Foosackly's chicken fingers were slightly better that Chick-fil-a's. You can't really compare the two restaurants because their menus are drastically different with CFA offering a LOT more variety. But if you go head to head with fried chicken fingers, Foosackly's wins in the photo finish. I had no idea what to expect when trying this place for the first time but it was GREAT, and the prices were low. Definitely will be going back,...
