If you’re coming here to perform as a small artist, DON’T. I was booked to perform here from 7-1 AM after meeting with Jim the owner, he was a really cool guy, I was told through text that there would be a sound guy to set me up. There wasn’t. I showed up at the promised time (7pm) with only my setlist in hand, only to be told that someone else was booked and would be there for the night. The sound man, Greg, was called on his night off and he still came through and stayed my entire time, even if that was his night off. Staff did not know what was going on.
Turns out Jim was too drugged to remember he booked me after his ankle surgery. Mind you, before the surgery, when he was coherent, he never told the staff about me, and told the staff to cancel my performance last minute over the phone after I was ALREADY THERE.
2 hours into my planned setlist time (9pm), the staff still made it work. I still performed while the other band set up, understanding he was probably lucid which was MY mistake. By hour 3&1/2 (10:30 pm) of my planned setlist time, I got done completely and stayed to support the other band playing, the drinks were good and the staff were amazing.
I messaged the owner Jim after a few weeks of letting him heal and come to his senses asking when he would plan on paying me, I haven’t gotten a clear response and have been left on read since. Regardless of how short my setlist time had to be because of Jim’s inability to communicate, it was a total of 3 & 1/2 hours of MY time that was taken for granted, 3 & 1/2 hours that COULD have been my setlist that WE planned. I deserve to be compensated for my time there.
So because of this, my last resort is to come here and let everybody know. Small artists, please watch out! Get a written statement of how much he will pay you and consent to perform. Thank you to the staff who helped me have an amazing night regardless. I would come back to enjoy a vibe, but I really don’t wanna put more of my time or money into this...
Read moreSo I fully intended to come in today and not be nearly well serviced as I was. I usually come in with my brother that works here so I figured the great service would come with him. I was glad to be proved wrong. I came in and was instantly greeted and although the bartender didn’t recognize me at first he was on top of his game. It was also my friends birthday and my going away celebration and he made us signature drinks to help with the fun. I have no regrets in coming to woodys 2.0 nor do I regret tipping as much as I did.
