We recently gave Sisters Thai in Tysons Corner a second chance, hoping for a better experience after a disappointing first visit, but unfortunately, it didn’t improve.
On our second visit, we arrived early on a Saturday morning as one of the first guests, expecting prompt service. While we were greeted politely at the door, the experience quickly went downhill. Our waiter seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and once we placed our order, the wait for food was unreasonably long. To apologize, the restaurant offered two complimentary appetizers, but this didn’t make up for the delays, especially since the kitchen wasn’t busy at that time.
The food delivery was extremely disorganized. Instead of bringing out all four meals together, the first dish came out cold, followed by two more plates 20 minutes later. One of those two orders was incorrect, and we had to ask the waiter to fix it. Meanwhile, the fourth order for our group was nowhere to be seen. When we asked about it, the waiter assured us it was coming, but 15 minutes later, he returned with a menu and admitted he had forgotten to place the order entirely. Our friend, understandably, declined to reorder at that point. We then asked for a side of Nutella for the dish they had messed up, but even that took another 20 minutes to arrive.
On our first visit, the experience was equally disappointing. We ordered food and coffee at the bar, and while the food arrived promptly, the coffee did not. We waited over an hour for two cups of coffee, which didn’t arrive until 30 minutes after we had already finished our meal.
Sisters Thai has repeatedly failed to deliver a cohesive dining experience. Meals should be served at the same time, not in a staggered and chaotic manner, especially when all four guests ordered together. The consistently poor service, long waits, forgotten orders, and lack of organization make it clear that this restaurant struggles to meet even basic expectations. To make matters worse, Sisters Thai has very high prices for the experience they offer, which only adds to the disappointment. After two unsatisfactory visits, we won’t...
Read moreSunday Brunch Party of 4 review Ambiance - The ambiance is what drew us to this location. The restaurant and cafe are beautifully decorated and I hoped my party would enjoy their time here.
SERVICE- T E R R I B L E. When I wrote out the specifics, Google told me my review was too long. CLIFF NOTES: Ordered for my 8 year old, a plain Wagyu burger - emphasized plain. The burger came out 20 minutes AFTER everyone else had their food, no apologies, and all of our food was cold due to waiting. The burger was NOT plain, when I mentioned this to the server - she said, it's butter on the toast, and walked off. (Globs of butter on the buns on both sides.) My child did not eat her food, the manager noticed, sent the server back who expressed her annoyance - and tightly offered a scoop of gelato.
COFFEE: We ordered coffees - 3 to be specific, but were not provided with sugar. The coffees were dropped off, and about 5-7 minutes later we had to ask for sugar. Another 5 minute wait for sugar and no spoons provided.
TOAST: One of our orders had a side of toast. After waiting 10 minutes, we eventually asked the server for butter - another 5 minute wait for butter.
DESSERTS: We ordered two desserts, we ordered: the waffles with bananas, nuttela and vanilla and chocolate gelato When the dessert was delivered, no small plates, no spoons - both required requests with wait time to receive.
2 scoops of gelato (passion fruit and rose)

This is hands down the worst of all the Sisters Thai locations I’ve been to. I’ll give credit where it’s due—the ambiance is beautiful, and the fact that they offer halal meat is a 10/10 addition. But unfortunately, the service here really ruins the experience.
After being seated, we waited around 15 minutes with no server in sight. When we finally asked for someone, a server told us they were busy and would come over soon—but then proceeded to have a casual, laughter-filled conversation with another employee. When we followed up again, he decided to clean a nearby table instead of taking our order—even though we were still waiting.
One of my favorite dishes from the Mosaic and Alexandria locations is the Larb Gai Lettuce Wrap, but I couldn’t find it on the menu here. I asked the server if the Larb Gai Salad was the same thing, and instead of clearly explaining the difference, he rushed me and said, “Yes, yes, please stop asking,” in an extremely dismissive tone.
Of course, what arrived wasn’t a lettuce wrap at all—it was just shredded chicken on top of salad greens. When I pointed this out, the server rudely said, “You got what you ordered,” and acted like he did nothing wrong.
To make matters worse, he also told me the Ka Prow was a ground chicken dish, but it came out completely different. When I asked to have it corrected, he gave me a bunch of inconsistent excuses and flat-out refused to fix it.
It’s really disappointing, because this location has so much going for it—halal food, a beautiful café setting, and a great menu—but the lack of respect and professionalism from the staff is unacceptable. If you want the full Sisters Thai experience, I strongly recommend visiting Mosaic or...
